Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Just another day : )

This morning the temperature was 65 when I left on my walk.  The air was pleasant and the sun was out which made for nice walking.  I still was pretty hot though after a few miles.
I walked around the lake again and the nice weather chased a lot of people outside for a morning walk.  I said good morning quite a few times.
There were a few boats out on the lake too.  You can barely see the boat in this picture.  The fishermen had umbrellas up keeping the sun off of them.
So many rabbits were along the path and they all were young.  They didn't stay around long enough to have their picture taken.  But this little box turtle moved slow enough for me to get his picture.
On my walk today I took 12,475 steps.
I found a lucky penny.

It's Tuesday which is knitting day.  I gathered up a project and got ready to go.  We usually just sit and knit and talk but today it was a bit different.  It was a pot luck brunch and we all brought something to eat.  I took along those Lemon Sugar Cookies from yesterday.  I only ate some cherries, grapes and one little round cheese ball made with Rice Krispies.  There was of course way too much food and only a few of my cookies were eaten so I brought them back home with me.
Tomorrow  I have an appointment to get my hair done.  As most of you know I always take along some chocolate chip cookies for everyone there.  I think I'm going to take them the lemon sugar cookies instead this time.  I just don't feel like baking cookies this afternoon.  Hope they won't mind the change.

After knitting I popped in the grocery store there to get a few things to make BLT Sandwiches for supper.  We use bacon bits so don't have to cook the bacon and they work out great on sandwiches.  We make triple decker ones and they are very good.

This afternoon I've done some chores around the house and now is the time of day I like to sat back and read or do some needle work.  It doesn't always work out that way but today it did.

A happy day to you, my friends. : )

I don't think that they'll mind. I'm waiting for the evening to bring cooler temps, then I'm doing some baking myself.

You are so generous! I think the ladies will enjoy a change, just for interest. I'm amazed by the design on the box turtle's shell. It's just one tiny part of God's amazing creation. Thanks for sharing. MJ

You have a wonderful place for taking enjoyable walks. I am not one to be out in the sun at all, so that limits my walking a bit. I'd say ANY cookies would be welcome at the salon!:)

I think the lemon cookies will be a big hit!

I so enjoy the pictures you take on your daily walks.

I do think you could have written today's quote.
I would think any homemade cookies would be a welcome treat, unless they don't care for lemon.
I love a BLT in the summertime. Waiting for my tomatoes to ripen and I will be making them too.

What fish do the fishermen catch on your lake? It's so important to allow some 'Me Time' during the day - enjoy your reading or knitting.
