Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day in my life....

Another one of those hot mornings.  My clothes were soaked and I had to peel them off when I got home.
I walked my connect the path route which is mostly in the shade which was nice and once in a while I felt a slight breeze through the trees.
There were a scattering of people about on the paths but the rabbits out numbered the people, but I didn't see any deer at all.

I gave my first born child David a call while walking to wish him a Happy Birthday.  It is a big one for him and a big one for me too.  40!!  How can I possibly have a child that age!? : ) Have a great day David.  I love you!

Steps on my walk today were 13,347.

It's Tuesday and knitting day and I had planned to go but at the last minute I skipped it.  It's one of those hot humid days and I didn't feel like sitting outside.  So instead I went to do a little shopping in some nice cool air conditioned stores.
I went to Hobby Lobby and got a couple of cards and looked around by the yarn and since it is knitting day I bought some yarn. : )
I made a stop at the bank and then went to Ross to get a couple pair of jeans but didn't find any there that I liked.  There is a thrift store right next to Ross which I don't even know the name of and I went to check things out in there and found a pair of jeans I liked and bought them.  Not many in my size - most of the sizes were pretty big!!
By then it was past lunchtime and I was getting hungry so I headed back home for lunch.

Got the clothes off the line, folded and put away and then ironed a few of Ken's shirts.  Still more to do but at least I made a start.  I had to clean our tiled shower today and put it off for my last job because I just hate cleaning it.  I usually do it first to get it out of the way.

Well now that I feel good about having a nice clean shower and I'm done with work for the day, I'm looking forward to doing a little reading.  I'm glad I'm not doing the challenge of reading 75 books a year with LibraryThing this year because I'd be far behind in that.  I think I've only read 19 this year so far.  Guess I've just been doing other things.

We are going out after supper tonight to Lowe's to get some more building material for the tractor barn.  Now that those shingles are done on the upper roof we are anxious to get things moving along with that.

If you're were it's hot hope you are able to keep cool.  Just looking at the thermometer here and it reads 101!!
A happy day to you.

Happy Birthday to your son!!

It is nice to have all of the cleaning done at the same time. Every now and then I get a burst of energy and do it all at once. :-)

Happy Birthday to David. That is indeed a milestone for both of you.
I'm with you on not enjoying the cleaning of the shower tiles. I know that must be a good feeling to have that job accomplished.

It is cooler here at this point in the day. There were some rain showers that moved through during the afternoon, leaving some cooler temperatures.

Happy birthday to your son!

Gotta love your tenacity. You're going to walk no matter what. Only ice holds you back.

Glad that you found some jeans just your size. Are we playing Goldilocks and the Three Bears?

Are you kidding me? A 40 year old son. You were obviously a child bride. Hope that David is having a great day.

It's more humid here than hot, which is not fun, but better than most are having it.

Happy Birthday to your son. My eldest will be 49 tomorrow!!!

You are hotter than we are today... We were about 90--but the humidity was 100%.... Yuk..

Good Luck with your reading.

LOVE those rays of sun through trees photos!!!!!!

Glad you did not choose to sit out in the heat. Around these parts, Tues. was an Air Advisory Day. People were advised to Stay In, out of the Ozone. Ugh.... And we did.

I think it's wise, to have opted out of a Reading Challenge. We both love to read. And we certainly don't need any Challenge, to get us to read. :-)

In fact, I need just the opposite. I'm always kind of rushing, with my reading... For no reason. Duhhhh me. ,-)

Happy Birthday to your son David - I never minded being 40 or 50 but when I turned 60 well that really hit home. What a full day you've had I would wilt in temperatures as high as yours but wouldn't mind temperatures rising a little here. Enjoy your read.
