Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

My new shoes

Another one of those great mornings for walking.  55 degrees with a mixture of clouds and sun.
I walked around the lake again and this time walked my usual route to the right and up around the bunny trail.
The usual amount of people around as well as a couple of fishermen in boats.  I stopped to take a picture of one of the small boats.
Lots of bunnies about eating grass on the side of the path, but all the deer were hiding this morning and I didn't see any.  All the geese families were up on the grass again like yesterday and they are so used to people walking by now that they just keep right on eating when we walk by.

I bought a new pair of walking shoes last night and wore them this morning.  I usually buy New Balance and have worn them for years.  I tried a pair on that felt great but they only had white and I just don't like white shoes.  I would have bought them though if I couldn't get any other color because I'd rather have a pair of shoes that feel great than ones that only look nice.  For my walks they MUST be GREAT feeling.
I tried on a pair of Under Armour cross trainers and knew right away that these shoes were for the ones for me.  They felt great and the support in my heal was fantastic.  Not only that, I like the look of them too.  Looks like I'll be saying good by to New Balance.

This morning walking along I felt like a kid with a new pair of sneakers that made me fly along faster than ever.  All the people I knew that I came across had to hear about my new shoes!!  I must be the only person who has not heard of this kind of shoe before because everyone knew all about them.
Here they are!  I was going to buy two pair like I usually do but they only had the one in my size.

Me and these shoes have many happy miles to walk together.  Best of all my heal is no longer hurting!!  I just needed that extra support.
I walked 6.4 miles and enjoyed every step!

Last night I finished making the last weave-it square for the baby blanket I've been working on and finished sewing the squares together.  This one went pretty fast and only took me about a month.  If you would like to see a picture of it you can, click HERE to see it.

I did some laundry and gathered some things up to take with us when we go up to our land tomorrow.  The trailer will be delivered and it will be great to move some things into it.  It should be a fun weekend!!

I spent a couple of hours outside cleaning my car.  I washed the outside until it sparkled.
Nice clean car
While I was washing it one of my neighbors had a repairman at their house and he came over to talk about my car.  He said he was surprised to see a woman taking such care in washing a car.
I also cleaned the inside.  Wiped it all down, took out the mats, vacuumed them and the rest of the inside as well.
My cockpit
I noticed that the garage needed sweeping out so I did that.  Then swept the driveway too.  Before I knew it two hours had gone by.

Had some lunch and by then all my clothes were dried so took them in, folded them, put them away and that took care of another chore.

It clouded up, we got a good shower and then the sun came out again.  I'm glad my car was in the garage and my clothes were already in and put away!!

That's been my day so far.
Hope your day found you more often than not with a smile.

Oh, yes! My day usually has many more smiles than the opposite! Our oldest daughter has come to town for a short while, my husband had the chance to get out on the golf course, but he brought in more zucchini from the garden before he left, there is a nice cool breeze still, and we are able to have the doors open. I didn't have a chance to get out on my walk this morning, but that will come. Life is good!
Your car looks beautiful!

I looked through some of your last posts and I saw your new little home - the trailer - it is beautiful. It will be great for you to live there while you build your cabin :) Enjoy:)

Your car looks better than brand new!
The baby blanket turned out to be beautiful. What neat work!
By the way, the baby's name is Jonah.

The new shoes are nice, I will have to check this brand out. It is important for your feet to feel good while out walking. My BIL is the same way about his Vet, always in perfect condition. Have a great evening.

Glad that you found a great pair of shoes with good support in the heel. Too bad that NB isn't offering a better product.

Oh you should have a terrific weekend with the trailer up at the site. A good night's sleep and a cozy place to hang out...can't go wrong with that arrangement.

The baby blanket is great. It's going to be a wonderful blessing.

Good shoes are always important, but especially for one who walks as much as you do. My son has a lot of Under Armour shirts. I wasn't aware of them also having shoes.
I went to look at the baby afghan and left a comment. Didn't realize I was logged into another account so you may not recognize it as me.
Your car looks very well taken care of.
I think your weekend will be wonderful in the new trailer.

What a great day! And your new shoes. I can imagine how you felt.

Do you have a view of the sunset from your deck? The sky has been amazing lately, hasn't it?

I can't wait to hear about your weekend in Garrett Co. Write a lot and take lots of pictures, OK?

PS...I ate so many of your cookies.

Hi Karen, Looks like you had a very productive day... It feels good, doesn't it, to get alot done... Sometimes that works for me and sometimes, not so much! ha

Congrats on the new shoes... I'm just the opposite. I like white tennis shoes. Oh Well--that's why they make so many different kinds and colors!

Beautiful car... Our Prius never gets that kind of care unfortunately...

Hugs
Betsy
P.S. Glad the overly friendly man was not around this morning when you walked.

Great looking shoes. I never heard of them either. Where did you get them? I will be in the market for new shoes in July.

Your car looks so shiny and new, it must make you feel really good to see the results of your hard work. My little red micra in complete contrast is dusty and muddy. Even when I do wash it one drive along the country road and it is covered with mud and muck that all the farm vehicles have left on the road.

Your new trailer seems to be perfect for the two of you. Will make things so much easier while you are doing all the building on your land.

I will have to look into the under armour walking shoes, the ones you have look really cute and to have comfort also is a great thing. I have to wear white for work, so maybe I will have to get two pairs if they come in white.
