Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Taking it easy today

A cloudy start to the day with a temperature of 48 degrees for my walk this morning.
Limped along down the road to the pool, then turned down the path in the picture which is behind the pool and meets up with another path and headed back home.
It was just me and the birds till my phone rang.  It was my friend Lin and we talk and walk 'together' every once in a while.    I stopped on one of the footbridges to talk and to rest my leg.   Just walked 2.8 miles.  I think I over used my leg a bit yesterday so thought I'd start out slow today.

I'm taking it a bit easy today.  I washed the sheets and even though it was cloudy I hung them up outside anyway hoping that it wouldn't rain.  Luck stayed with me because the sun made a showing every once in a while and the sheets dried in no time.
The only other work I've done is just the basic house chores that have to be done.

I called my friend Bernice and we talked quite a while catching up because it had been a couple of months since we last talked.  Besides it was a good way for me to stay off my leg for a while!!  Ah Bernice, she is my life long friend and the sister I never had. : )  I am blessed to have such a friend.

I hope you're having a sunny kind of day.

So glad that you continue to be cautious with "the leg." Talking while you're walking sounds like fun, but I don't know if I'd be able to do it so well. I am one of those who can't walk and talk at the same time.

I was 9 posts behind on your blog! I feel like I just sat down with you and caught up on your life. We need to make plans to do it in person. I miss you.

There is something quite wonderful about a good friend or a sister. I was blessed growing up with 4 sisters. Only my youngest sister is still with us and she is very dear to me.

I'm taking a little break from my "blog break" this morning to get caught up with you.
It sounds like you are being smart to go slowly with getting back into walking. I'm sure your leg will let you know when it is ready to resume your normal walking routine.
In the meantime, catching up with old friends seems like a great way to pass the time.
Happy Easter to you and Ken.
