Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A fine sunny day

The morning started out a cold one.  It was 32 degrees when I left for my walk.  That is ice on the footbridge!!
The sun soon warmed things up and it was a gorgeous beautiful morning with lots of sun.  After all the rain everything was lush and green.
I am just coming to the lake here along this path.
As soon as I got to the lake I saw the baby geese that I saw yesterday in the same spot.  I walked down to the water and took some pictures.  There are six babies.  I posted a couple more pictures on my other blog if you would like to see more of them.
I mentioned the babies to a walker friend and he said they will probably be the only babies we see this year because the park workers greased or did something to the eggs so they wouldn't hatch.  Ah too bad, but there are way too many geese around.

I saw the white egret, a few deer, and LOTS of robins.

Quite a few people out around the lake but most of them were runners.

When I got back home the temperature had gone up to 44 degrees already.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Ate a quick breakfast, did a couple of things that needed to get done and then left for my Tuesday morning knitting group.  Nice time there as always.  I made 6 weave-it squares.  Nice to work on them because I can make them without thinking and can keep on talking. : )
Did not make the usual stop at the library because Ken and I went there last night after supper and YES, I did get a few more books out!
The rest of the afternoon I'll be here at home.

Ken and I are not a big fan of tattoos but son David is really into them and has quite a few of them.  The last two he just got are mom and dad ones and though like I said we are not crazy about them his sentiment on getting these is special.  The lighthouse is for me because I love them and he said, "You are like my beacon in the darkness."
The anchor is for his dad because Ken was in the Navy and David said, "Dad is my anchor."

A happy Tuesday to you my friends.

Glad you got pictures of the baby geese.
I'm glad you could accept the tatoos in the spirit in which they were given.

Those little babies are so sweet.
I feel the same way about tattoos, but do admit to being fascinated by how they can do such nice artwork on skin. In the case of David's tattoos, I think I would feel very honored by his sentiments.
My youngest son has one on his forearm. If you read it one way it says Dream and the other way Believe. Even though I was shocked when he came home with it, I have to admit it is kinda cool.

The geese are thick here too as I live close to the Illinois River. The babies are so cute though.

I think the sentiment behind your son's tats is very touching.

Wow, those are big tattoos, nice thought but like you I am not a fan of a lot of tattoos all over. Some individual ones are quite artistic and when I said I would like one on the back of the neck my son explained that those are called 'tramp stamps', tramp = slut, but then he said the nicest thing ever. He said 'But no one would think that of you because you are too classy.' Nobody in the family has a tatoo at the moment. I've always thought that anyone who wanted to be an organ donar could have a small D tatooed on their wrist, where you would wear a watch and if you ever changed your mind you could have a line through it. Then there would be no doubt and relatives would not have the responsibility of making descisions.

What an amazing compliment your son has paid to you and your husband - you must feel very proud of him. I love the baby geese - what a shame they have to cull them.

There IS a way to keep the geese population (in a park area) keep from becoming too, too many! I understand, since our city park has had so much trouble, over the years, with the problems of too many geese. -sigh-

Does it hurt to get tats?

Oh I know, a guy is not going to admit it, probably. So why bother asking, hu? :-)))))
