Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day of work

It was still only 32 degrees and snow on the ground the first thing this morning so we stayed at the house for a while waiting for some of the snow to melt and for it to warm up a bit.  On the way to our land we stopped in at Annie's Kitchen and had breakfast.  I had French toast and boy was it good.
Before we could build I shoveled the snow off of the floor of the barn.  We have started called the shed The Barn for some reason so I'll be referring to the building as that now.
The sun came out and soon warmed things up and before long all the snow melted and it was actually quite pleasant working.  We started working about 10:30.
We got the second floor joists done and here is Ken working while I'm walking around taking pictures.  I was soon back helping though.
The joists are finished here and now Ken is working on the second floor decking.  Again I'm walking around taking more pictures.
By the end of the work day (5:30) the second floor decking was done too.
I took this picture of the underside of the second floor.
We skipped lunch today because we ate a late breakfast but did share some peanut butter crackers and some bottles of water.
After the days work we went back to the house, got cleaned up, had supper and once again stopped at Lowe's and got more building material for tomorrow.  We got 20 pieces of plywood for the sheathing which we will start tomorrow.
I usually help Ken load up all the lumber on the cart and then load it in the truck with him but today a couple of nice employees asked Ken if he needed help and I said, "Yes, Please."  So I got a break!

So this was day 6.
Only a day and a half left before we have to head back home.

I took this picture laying down in the back of the truck looking straight up.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.
Till tomorrow..........
A happy day to you.

Glad that the weather cooperated for you. Is your leg feeling good? Are you tying down your building? I wouldn't want the wind to topple it. I vaguely remember that you're going to have a place to stay up there...

Do you wish you had two weeks to build? I bet it's going to be hard leaving it part-way finished.

What a great record you will have to look back on. Lovely cloud formation.
