Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Warm but windy

A warm 51 degrees!  Didn't have to wear a lot of layers of clothes today!  Just my tights, shorts, a long sleeve tee shirt and my sweat shirt.  With my hair cut I didn't think I'd have enough hair to wear my ball cap with a pony tail, but I have just enough to make a small one. : )  So I got to wear my hat!!

I walked over to the lake and walked the left side loop while work continues.  I think the work might be finished real soon.  I could look across the lake and could see that they had done some repaving of the path already which means they are done with the heavy machinery now.  I'm thinking that in a couple of days we should be able to walk all the way around again.

Not many people by the lake.  Maybe people are staying away because they can't walk all the way around.
I saw three deer on the way to the lake but none by the lake.
Lots of geese around the lake as usual and here is one of them.
Two ground hogs were munching on some grass.  I zoomed in on one of them and got this picture.
I also saw the heron fly over my head and three Red Winged Black birds sitting in tree tops.
I found my first coin for the month, a nickel.
Walked 6.2 miles.

It has been a warm day in the low 70's.  I hung a couple loads of laundry out but it was very windy and the clothes really got twisted around the line.  I had to keep going outside to untangle them, but they did dry fast!!
I wanted to sit outside on the deck because of the warm temperatures but it was just too windy.

So I stayed inside and got a few things done.  The shredding basket had quite a lot of paper in it so I shredded everything up.  Then I had to vacuum because I made mess by knocking over what I had just shredded! Then since the vacuum was out I ended up vacuuming the whole house.

Yesterday I bought strawberries and they are the best I've had in a while.  I had them on my cereal this morning and for lunch I had more with pineapple in cottage cheese.

Still have to fold the clothes so I'd better go and do that.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A happy day to you.

The weather sure changes from day to day up there. Here everyday is pretty much the same in the 70's, but I'm not complaining, our summer will be here before I know it.

Fantastic quote, btw.

Yes, even we got warm today. In the 60's. Sun early, and then it began to get cloudy-ish. Said we'd better get our walk in, before it rained.

It was sprinkling when he got done with his project but we went anyway. The air was mild and it was really delightful.

And then the showers came back. And by the time we were on the way back to home, it turned into rain. But we made it, without really getting wettttt. :-)

Hope the rain gets over tonight, so it could be nice tomorrow too. But have not looked at the weather. I'll stay un-knowing for longer and hope. :-)

Cottage cheese with strawberries and pineapple sounds delicious. We've had very changeable weather around here. Beautiful sunny days have been followed by nights with temperatures below freezing. It's rather scary.

Cute little ground hog! We don't have those here but I always see them when we go see our daughter in Kansas City.

Just one look at that groundhog brings out murderous tendencies in me. Glad that a few days changes nothing here...walking, enjoying the birds and wildlife, chores, living the good, simple life!

I am looking forward to drying my washing outside soon - the weather is not warm enough yet and with no wind the clothes just hang. What lovely pictures of the goose and the groundhog - you sure do have a lovely start to your day. We have been having a lot of fresh pineapple lately and it has been so sweet and juicy - just lovely. Not had strawberries this year yet but do enjoy them.

It was windy!

I've been buying strawberries every week from the Dutch Market. I don't know where they get them from but they're always red and delicious.
