Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Polk a dot slippers

Another chilly start to the day.  Only 24 degrees, but a calm morning with lots of sunshine.
I walked over to the lake and around as much of it as I could staying out of the work zone.
Other work is going on around the lake too.  Some of the picnic pavilions are getting a make over and some work is being done near the main entrance.  I think they are going to pave a parking lot which is just grass now and used only when the paved lots are full. That's my guess anyway.  I didn't take any pictures because the guys were working and I didn't want them to think I was taking their picture. Besides the workers I only saw a couple of people out walking this morning.  Maybe they were waiting till later when it warmed up some more.
I saw a couple of mocking birds flying from tree to tree together, saw lots of geese who were very noisy but didn't see any deer.
It really was a beautiful morning and I enjoyed my walk.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Tuesday is knitting day so off to the mill I went with my knitting bag.  I left my car home and took the truck today.  It was parked in front of my side of the garage and besides I like to drive it every once in a while so I am familiar with driving it.

A big crowd at knitting today - I counted 16 of us.  A new woman stopped by again.  It will be easy for me to remember her name because it's Karen. : )

I made some weave-it squares for the baby blanket I'm working on.  Used up the pink yarn and started on the off white yarn.

It was one of the knitters birthday today  and she brought in cupcakes as did another knitter.  The cupcakes were set down right in front of me and I had to use extreme will power not to eat any.  Some were chocolate and the others were lemon.  My two favorite flavors!!

My daughter Debbi called while I was there so I left the area for a bit to have a nice chat with her.  All is well with her in Denver and her call added more happiness to my day.

Walking through the mill on the way out after knitting I stopped in one of the stores and bought myself a pair of slippers.  I've been walking past these for weeks now thinking how soft and warm they looked and thought it about time I bought myself a pair.  I didn't waste any time putting them on once I got home.
So that's been my day so far.  Hope you're having a good one too.
Till next time.....

I love polka dots! I would have had a hard time saying no to a lemon cupcake. :)

Hi Karen, Those slippers look so comfy and warm... I have some similar ones which I wear in the winter--but mine aren't quite as colorful!!!!

Glad you talked to your daughter. I always get so excited when I get to talk to one of my sons.

Hugs,
Betsy

Seeing your lovely new slippers reminds me I need to go and buy a pair - I put my old slippers to the trash bin last week. I wish I had your willpower - I'm afraid I could not have passed on the cup cakes!
