Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Going to a Preview

What a big difference from yesterday morning.  It was only 28 when I walked but it was very still out and the sun was shining so it was really very nice.  It was already up to 35 when I got back home.
I walked over by the lake again and walked on what I now call my 'while they work on the path' route.  : )
Just as I was getting to the lake off in the distance by the dam I saw Barb.  I could tell it was her by the way she walked.  She must have thought the same of me because we both waved.  We never did catch up because we walked in different directions.  Only saw five others around the lake.  One was a bike rider who gave no warning and startled me as he flew past.
Yesterday the boat ramp chain was taken down for the season and now small boats are allowed back on the lake.  I saw the first boat out on the lake this morning.
Saw a few sea gulls and two deer.  The bright red of a cardinal stood out among the brown of the woods and I saw a chickadee and heard many more birds chirping making happy morning sounds!

I had just walked up the path here on the left and was on my down the other side.  It doesn't look like much of a hill in the picture but believe me it is.
Half way down the hill facing the other way I saw this  painted on the road to give encouragement to someone.
I walked to the north entrance of the park and then walked up the road and home.
Todays walk was 6.6 miles.

Today I did some more work and got the living room finished.  It took me longer than usual because I changed some things around.  Not the major furniture but all the little things.  I think moving things around gives housework a bit of fun. : )
I started on the kitchen but haven't quite finished.  I still have to dust the hutch with all the Fiestaware on it.

Ken is planning on leaving work an hour earlier than his usual time.  His normal time to leave should be 3:30 but he hardly ever leaves before 4:30 and usually later.  Any way he is planning on leaving at 2:30 and we are going to go to an auction preview for an auction being held tomorrow morning at the fairgrounds.  This is a different kind of auction than we usually go to.  This one is of building supplies.  Ken thinks we may be able to get some things for the shed and cabin that we will be building very soon now that the warmer weather will be coming.  If we see anything we can use today, tomorrow you can be sure we will be at the auction.
We plan on staying out till supper time this evening so we can go out for pizza. : )

It's after 1:00 now and I still haven't had lunch so I'm going to eat now.  Then it won't be long before Ken is home and off we go.

A happy Friday to you.

the wind blows cold:
when it is summer in the light,

Good luck with finding some building supplies!

This is now a whole new quest, in your lives. ,-) Because of the brand new project of your cabin. Fun!!!!

Good luck finding what you're looking for at the auction.

Oh that would be great to find building supplies on the cheap. Don't forget to look at Craig's List, too. Even in the new land's area, which gives you two chances to find something. Do you have any cheap lumber liquidators or Marden's type stores your way?

That was some dip in the temperature...I liked the encouraging sign. I bet that someone had no idea how "far" it would go.

Have fun tonight and enjoy the pizza.

I hear birds on my morning walk too - it makes me happy.
I also like to move the little things around the house :) It is nice with some changes.

I wish you good luck at the auction :)

I hope you find some things you can use at the preview and then get them for a good price tomorrow.

I love the idea of reusing building materials. I bet it was fun seeing all the stuff and coming up with building ideas.

Have a great Saturday!
