Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Glass Banks

This morning was more like a spring day with a temperature of 42 degrees!!  A big difference from a few days ago when it was 17!!!  We sure have changeable weather.  I didn't go to over the lake but just walked all over the place on no particular route.  After walking about 4 miles i was near home and stopped there for a pit stop, then left again and continued my walk.
I walked along roads,
 A few paths,
 And over a few footbridges.
I took the left turn here.
I didn't see any wildlife except for birds.  Not many people out along the paths but Petey and John were out walking and stopped for a chat with them.
A warm, still, but cloudy morning.
I walked 7.1 miles.
Found a penny and a dime.

ArtyMarti asked me what i do with the pennies that i find.   Some of you know as i've mentioned it before but for those of you who don't, i save all the coins i find in old glass banks.  I've been saving them for years.  These are all my banks lined up.  You can see four more empty ones down at the end all waiting to be filled.
I got my cards written out yesterday and put them in the mail this morning when i was out walking.  I didn't write out very many but it is still nice to be done with it.

Finished up a few chores around the house in the morning and then i had some time for some reading after lunch.

I'm reading Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift.  I've seen a few versions of the movie but have never read the book.  I guess i should have realized but didn't, that this book was written in the 1700's!!  It is a bit slow reading because of that but i am enjoying the book.  It is my own book which i bought a while back with a gift card.

So that's been my day so far.  I'm off now to sew some more of those weave-it squares together.  There seems to be no end to them!!

Don't forget to take some time for yourself and do something you enjoy.
A smile from me to you.

Looks like a nice walk today, Karin. Love seeing your glass banks... Awesome... What will you eventually do with the money??? Bet it goes to a mission somewhere.

Great quote today by John R. Rice...

That's a lot of found money! Seven point one miles is a lot of steps. Glad that you say someone out walking today. It must seem a little lonely when you see no one at all. I'll tell John that you said hello.

Glad you got to walk, without rain. At least here, 'twas a rainy and kinda' nasty-out day. Silly weather really. The Victorians had the Little Ice Age. We are having the Little Spring Age. ,-)

You are reading Gulliver's Travels. There are so many classics which I have never read. -sigh- I's sorry to admit that the slowness of some, puts me off. Not a nice thing, to have to say about myself.

Me who be-moans the rush, rush, rush of modern life. But I seem to have bitten-into-it, with my reading, hu? -perturbed sigh- ,-)

Thank you for being pleased that "Uncle A." and I went back for the train set! He is getting a kick out of the comments on this, which I have been getting. :-)

Gentle hugs,

And never better than at Christmas."

I remember seeing the movie Gulliver's Travels as a child. It's been a long time for that childhood memory. Christmas cards became too expensive to send when they hit 40 cents postage. I now send to those I receive only. Those cards received after Christmas get my card late too.

It's nice taking a different route every now and then. I love the photos of your path.

You have quite a collection there, my friend. And, to think I thought I was the only one to have so many pennies. Hahahaha.

I hope you had a wonderful day!
