Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A repeat of yesterday

This morning the weather was a repeat of yesterday and another great morning for getting outside and walking.  Again I walked around the lake.
Here's a couple of pictures of what the sky looked like when I got to the lake.

After a while all the clouds were gone and the sky was a bright blue.  On the path leading to the lake I saw the doe and her baby again.  I took another picture of them coming out of the woods.

I walked down near to the water and took a picture of the ducks.  Haven't seen these two white ones here before.
I also saw the white egret and a green heron.  A few bunnies were eating at the edge of the path and the usual squirrels and birds were about.  Most of the geese were missing today.  Just a few of them about.
Quite a few people out around the lake again enjoying the pretty weather.  I'm thinking tomorrow I'll stay away from the lake because it's Saturday and sure to be over crowded!
I had just walked around the lake and was just past the place on the header picture heading back home and saw a woman from my church who I'd never seen walking the lake before.  It was Tian, my Secret Sister!!  What a surprise to see her there.  We stopped and talked a while and a few times I had to check myself before I said something to give who I was away.  We then went our separate ways with her still having no idea that I was her secret sister. : )
My son David called and we walked and talked together for a while.  He knows he can always reach me in the morning on my walk!
On this gorgeous morning I walked 6.4 miles.
Sunrise 6:15
Sunset 8:07
The days are getting noticeably shorter now.

Just after I finished publishing my blog yesterday Ken called to say he would be home late so I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for supper.  They are so good on homemade bread because the cheese soaks down into the bread.  Yummy!

Got a couple more loads of laundry hung outside to dry this morning and once again ate breakfast and read my Bible outside on the deck.

Made some apple cinnamon muffins and did a few things around the house while they were in the oven baking.

I'm hoping Ken doesn't have to work late again tonight because I feel like going out to eat at Red Robin for fish and chips.  :-)

Now, I'm off to read the latest book by Mary Higgins Clark, I'll Walk Alone.

A happy Friday to you.
Happyone : )
May you have warm words on a cool evening,
a full moon on a dark night,
and a smooth road all the way to your door.

Hubby and I went to RR last night. Yum-O
Let me know what you think of the Mary Higgins Clark book - I haven't read any of hers for a while.
I've been reading Ruth Rendell ..... if you like English mysteries I think you would like her.

'Tis being beautiful in the NE, is it not? Even I have walked, for 2 mornings in a row. -grin-

Dread the return of humidity, but it's too soon for it to all be gone, I know.

Like you, I LOVE to have my walking over, early in the day. It is a super feeling. :-) And it doesn't seem like *exercise,* on morning walks like this one. :-)

I really like the sky pictures you got at the beginning of your walk. The clouds are very dramatic. Meeting your secret sister was interesting. I'm glad you didn't give away your identity.

Oh I know...the days are definitely noticeably shorter. I almost can feel autumn's chill in the evenings and early mornings now. We had to run the heat in the car going to breakfast this morning. That's a sign of the times.

Glad that walking has been more pleasant. Did you learn if you secret sister walks often and you've just never met her out on the path before?

You captured some great sky pictures this morning. I wonder if the deer were the same from the other day? I visulize you grinning while talking to your secret sister, knowing you're the one with the secret! I'm saddened to see the days grow shorter. I wish it would stay like it has been these past couple of days, pure heaven for walking, even a breeze.

Kerri, I'll let you know about the book. I haven't read any Ruth Rendel books but I have heard of her. I'll give her a try.

Vee , My SS walks around the lake once in a while and usually later in the day.

Noofy, Yes, I'm sure those two deer are the same ones because they were in the same area and didn't seem to be afraid of me.
