Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day another walk : )

It was pretty hot and humid again this morning when I walked but at times there was a bit of a breeze so it really wasn't all that bad.  The temperature was 75 degrees.  I left my usual time of 6:30, and think I'll stick to that time again from now on, and walked around the lake.  Quite a few others were out there walking and running too and even a few bike riders.  I counted four fisherman down at the edge of the water too but no boats on the lake yet.
Not many animals out.  Just the usual geese, squirrels and rabbits.  Now that I think about it, I didn't see many birds either.
We had some rain yesterday afternoon and the stream along the path (picture above) I walked along to the lake was muddy as you can see from the picture below.
When I first start my walk I usually walk through the Giant parking lot and today I saw a man coming out of the store with bags who I usually see walking around the lake.  He said no walk for him this morning because he has his granddaughter at his house today.  It is always odd to see one of my walking friends somewhere else besides when they're walking.  They seem out of place! : )
As always I enjoyed my walk and walked 6.3 miles.
Sunrise 6:14
Sunset 8:12

I took this picture yesterday morning when I walked.
The turn lane is finished and a new sidewalk has been put in.  After the lines get painted we should be good to go.  Not sure if they are going to plant grass there on the right or maybe take some more of the dirt away first.

Well I played around some more this morning with my blog look and I like these colors a lot better so this will be it for a while.

I made myself some pancakes for breakfast this morning and even put a dollop of RediWhip on it.  I ate one and put the others in the freezer for another day.  I usually save making pancakes for breakfast on the weekends but Ken wasn't home at breakfast time on the weekend so I didn't make any but I missed my pancakes.

I had quite a bit of ironing to do so I watched television while I ironed.  I had the HGTV channel on and watched lots of people looking for houses to buy.  It's always fun for me to look at houses.  Yesterday afternoon Ken and I went to look a some new model homes again.  Didn't see anything that I'd rather be living in than where I am.  Most places are just way too big for the two of us.  No need or desire to move, we just like to look.

Now it's a fun time of day when I've done all the work I'm going to do for the day and can knit or read.  So off I go. : )

A very happy day to you.

Perhaps that man's granddaughter will walk with him tomorrow...

I'd like to move one more time into a small home that's more efficient. Doubt it'll happen because, unlike you, I hate looking. ☺

Say, you changed it again when I wasn't paying attention. This one is easier on my old eyes.

This one, with the blue-on-blue looks more like you Hon! :-)

Love it that you both like to go looking at new places. Not moving. Just looking. I'd love to but can't get him to be interested.

'Course, trouble is, around here, though it's a city, we've lived here "since the beginning of time" and someone would see us... And either ask or speculate, that we are looking to change houses. Which could lead to all sorts of speculation. LOL!

When you've lived in a city, *forever,* it's almost like living in a wee little town. :-) Which can have both its perks and its drawbacks. :-)

I'm not sure I could stop after eating only one pancake. Our weekend breakfast tradition is omelets, but we missed them this past weekend since we weren't home.

I like your new blog look. It all works well together.
I wonder if you were watching House Hunters. I like to see the different homes and then guess which one they will choose. I'm always up for a peek into a model home. Sometimes I get ideas and other times I go home and think my own house looks like a cluttered mess. LOL.

Hi Karen, I love the new blog look. Very nice.... I laughed at you talking about meeting people in other places than where you usually see them.. That always drives me crazy. When I saw one of the gals who works in my doctor's office at the grocery store, it took me forever to place where I knew her... ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

I haven't been able to leave comments for a while but think I have solved the problem at last! Still reading your blog though and following your walks!
