Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pink Laces

Another hot one out there this morning.  I walked around the lake with LOTS of other people.  I counted them today just for fun and there were 72!!! other people there.  So you see, I'm not so special or unusual walking on these hot mornings.  That is way too many people there for me so I'm going to stay away from the lake until it cools down a bit and there are less people out early.  I left the house a little earlier than usual at 6:05.  I woke up a little early and figured I'd just get an early start.
A hazy morning picture.
There was a dying groundhog along the path just as I got to the lake.  Someone mentioned it to one of the park workers and they took care of it.  It was kind of creepy and sad to see it twitching there on the side.
I saw lots of rabbits up on the bunny trail who were enjoying having a bite to eat.  The squirrels were running up and down the trees chasing each other by the playground and I saw lots of geese.
A hot morning but still it was nice to be out and walking.
I walked 6.3 miles.
Sunrise 5:57
Sunset 8:30

My "boy" shoes are really working out good for me.  I bought some pink shoe laces last night to girl them up a bit.  What do you think?  I put them in last night and just put the shoes on to take the picture.  That is why I don't have any socks on and I'm wearing pants.  Just so you don't think that I walked without socks on and in long pants on this hot morning.

I got some good work done in my kitchen today.  I cleaned out the refrigerator, not just of old food but cleaned the inside of it as well.  It's all nice and shiny inside and out.  It is stainless steel and I polished it with stainless clean cleaner and now it looks brand new again.  I also polished up the outside of the microwave, oven and dishwasher (which I don't use) too.
Other than that I've just been hanging out doing fun stuff.
Now I'm off to iron some shirts and I'll probably finish the audio book I'm listening to doing that.

Hope all is well in your part of the world and that you found bits of happiness scattered throughout your day.
A smile from me to you.

Thankyou for the reminder! I'm so glad I stopped by. First to see your peaceful, delightful pictures and your CUTE running shoes. But then...you reminded me that I have to clean out my refridgerator! We are leaving on a trip tomorrow and those perishables, well they will perish! I will enjoy my day! Blessings to you dear friend!

As someone who will be doing a long breast cancer walk in a couple more months, I like the hot pink laces. Too bad about the woodchuck. Art

The last time I cleaned out my fridge was a few months ago. A bottle of cherry soda was in the back, it frozen and exploded all over the inside of the fridge. What a mess.

Probably time to do it again.

Yes! The pink laces are perfect. My sneakers are now boasting baby blue laces. Much better than the ones they came with that were way too long.

That is a lot of people. Hope that you'll find a less popular spot for walking so you can really head out. I imagine that many people can slow you way down.

Good idea to do two things at once...listen to a good audio book while working on something. I might have to give that a try. Besides the AC is upstairs so I like working upstairs these days.

Hi There, Sorry about the groundhog. Wonder what happened... Maybe someone poisoned it... Too bad.

It's hotter than hot here also---almost unbearable to go outside even early in the morning.

Would you please come and clean our frig??? It needs a good thorough cleaning... Thanks!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I love the pink laces! Great idea.
(Can't use the idea, tho': my shoes have Velcro fasteners)

Very uplifting post today...well, except the poor groundhog story, RIP! Those are some very schnazzy laces you've got there. What a busy beaver you were today!

Love the new laces for the shoes, I too get up early so that I can garden and walk the dog before the heat gets too oppresive. I admire you for your dedication

Sad about the poor critter...
I like the shoes and the spiffy laces!
Isn't kind of fun to clean out the fridge and see all the sparkling space?
