Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A late start

This morning I woke up later than usual so I got a bit of a late start and didn't leave the house until 7:00.  It was a comfortable 60 degrees with lots of sunshine.  A little breeze would have been nice but that was not happening.  It was a nice quite peaceful morning except for an occasional car passing by.  A few people running, walking and bike riding and one man working out in his garden.  Just the usual birds in the way of wildlife this morning.
I stayed walking on the sidewalks and walked down a block on my street, turned right and then turned left here at the street up ahead.  It is one mile from home.
Then I continued walking down that street until I came to the end of it up ahead here, which is three miles from home.
I crossed the street and then just walked back home again.
I walked 6 miles.

The other day when I was out and went to WalMart, I picked up some new yarn for making weave-its.  I got four variegated color skeins.  I was amazed at all the different patterns that came out of this one skein.  The color is called Peruvian Print.  All the squares in the picture below are from that one skein!!
This are the other three colors I bought.
Should make for a colorful afghan.  I will also be using a lot of solid color squares too.  I'll be telling you more about this afghan in the days to come.

Ken and I met up for lunch and we went to eat lunch at Sonic.  There are none that I know of close by and we've never eaten in one so we went for a little ride to find it.  We got there pulled into a space, pressed the red button and ordered our lunch. A few minutes later a girl roller skated up to our car with our food on a red tray.  I had an All American Hot dog (ketchup, mustard, relish and onions) and Ken had a foot long chili dog.
It was kind of neat and reminded me of a place I used to go to with my parents when I was a little girl in NJ called Clixes.  No roller skates there though and a person came to your car to take your order and they left the tray hanging from the car window so you could put your trash on it and then they would come and take it away when you were finished.  On second thought the two places are not so much alike after all. : )

We are home this afternoon hanging around the house.
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday.
Till next time......

A smile from me to you.

I think the color repeats in this yarn are very very long - which makes it ideal yarn for weave its I would think. When they are shorter, like mine were, you can get plaids - like some of the squares I made - in the Red Heart Fall colors.

This new blanket will be very pretty.

Your afghan is going to be really nice. It's interesting that some of those weave-its don't even look as if they came from the same skein, though when you assemble it, I'm sure that it will all be coordinated very well.

Those are the kinds of walks I like only I do much shorter ones. Ten minutes out...seven minutes back. I never can figure out why that is. ☺

That yarn is amazing and will make another beautiful weave-it afghan. Did I tell you I love mine? You know I do :)
