Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I was back to walking this morning and it was a very hot humid walk along my connect the path route.  I saw the twin baby deer again, but didn't see their mom.  Along the paths I heard many cicadas, so many that they drowned out the bird songs.
A few people were out along the paths and I saw a few more along the sidewalk.  I was walking along the sidewalk and, a runner approached me coming the other way drinking gatorade as a bike rider passed me.  Bike rider guy says to runner, "You should be drinking water, not gatorade."  Runner comes back with, "I don't need to be preached at, A**H***!)  I just kept walking and didn't say anything to either one of them!

I cut my walk a little short this morning and walked 5.5 miles.  I don't mind walking in the heat a few days but now it's been a long time and I must admit today I didn't enjoy my walk as much as usual. It was a day that I looked forward to getting home again and having a drink.  Usually my walks give me more energy but today I felt drained.  I sure hope this heat wave breaks soon!

Happy Sunday : )

I've been reading Philippians this week
which is one of my favorite books of the Bible.

Here's a few verses from Chapter 4
 4-7
Always be full of joy in the Lord;
I say it again, rejoice!
Let everyone see that you are unselfish
and considerate in all you do.
Remember that the Lord is coming soon.
Don't worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything;
tell God your needs and don't forget
to thank Him for his answers.
If you do this you will experience God's peace,
which is far more wonderful than the human mind
can understand.
His peace will keep your thoughts
and your hearts quiet and at rest
as you trust in Christ Jesus.

May you all experience that wonderful peace and joy that only God can give you.
A very blessed Sunday to you all.
Happyone : )

-giggles- That exchange between the walker and the biker, guess the heat was getting to them. ,-) But then, I can see how one would not like to be told what-to-do, by another.

Glad you didn't walk yesterday, if you didn't feel like it. We do need to listen to our bodies, I think anyway. :-)

It is hard to take when a complete stranger tries to give you advice. Someone told me once to be careful going down a certain path which would have been fine except that he said it as if I wasn't capable of making it. I didn't say a word---but was offended... He certainly didn't say it in a pleasant way... Grrrrrrr...

Hope you have a nice weekend, and stay COOL.
Hugs,
Betsy

You're not alone in hoping this heat breaks soon. I have a lot of yard work that I've been putting off. I don't think I can put it off much longer.

So glad to be able to visit today, it is so hard to walk in this kind of temps. with humidity like most of us are having, I am so looking forward to a break. I find it so amazing at how people react to one another now days. it seems courtesy has gone away!!!
Thank you for sharing one of my favorite scriptures.
Enjoy your day,
Sue

You should give yourself a break from walking every now and then. I've said it before, I don't know how you do it in this heat. You are being health conscious shortening your walks in this weather.

Cranky, cranky...that's what heats does to some folks, me included.

We did enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon and I'm feeling much more content for it. It is good to get out once in a while.

Both exercisers were out of line. The guy giving advice ... I always find it unbelievable that someone would give advice to perfect strangers. The give getting the advice ... why do people go straight to anger.

It seems like we live in an angry world.
