Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I didn't walk today

We went to bed late last night and I didn't get up until 7:00.  It didn't seem to be as hot as yesterday but I just didn't feel like walking.  That doesn't happen often and I figured I'd just listen to myself and take a break today.

We had a brief thunderstorm with heavy rains but afterwards it just made it hotter.

We went out to do a few errands and stopped at Subway and I had a turkey sub for lunch.

I'm back home now and Ken is off to spend a few hours at work.
I need to get some dusting done and then I'll read.

I wish you all a happy day!

Good. I'm glad that you listened to yourself and took a little break. It's not easy to get motivated in this kind of heat. (John and I saw a funny little odd little scene last evening when we went in to the city trying to find another air conditioner. :{ A lady was watering her flowers on the front lawn wearing her nighty, which left little to the imagination, and her companion was sitting on the front step in his underwear enjoying the mist. I think they may have found the true meaning of happiness or, no, they may have gone stark raving mad.

Stay cool!

I also think it's good that you listened to yourself. I'm sorry the rain didn't cool things down, but perhaps the coming week will be cooler.

We didn't have any rain in my part of Columbia. Isn't that strange? I was so glad to be in AC at work today. It's much cooler there than at my house. The only time I spent outside was watering my garden at dusk. Still so hot, but it felt good to be outside. I've missed being out these last few days.

Miss you!

People talk of rain, I haven't seen it or heard it in almost two weeks. Each evening around 7:30 I drag the garden hose out and water the tomatoes and the plants. I hope I see rain soon. I am thankful for air conditioning.
