Sorry Vee, no pictures.
I must have needed some extra sleep last night because I didn't wake up until 7:30 (a hour and half later than usual). By the time I left on my walk the sun was already up and shining brightly. It was cooler than yesterday and there was quite a breeze but the weather was still gorgeous. I walked along the streets and paths and made my way over to Rita's which I now know is 3.4 miles from my house.
Gertie (89), who I met walking around her neighborhood and walks a couple miles every day and I've mentioned before, lives about a mile before I got to Rita's. I don't walk this way very often but I hadn't seen Gertie in months and was getting worried about her. I didn't know her last name or telephone number so I couldn't call her either. I knew which house was hers and did stop by one afternoon but she wasn't home. Lately I've seen a strange car in her driveway and was thinking maybe something happened to her and someone else was living there now. I usually pass by too early to stop at the house but today I was late and on the way home stopped and rang the bell. I am so glad I did because it was Gertie who answered the door. She was so happy to see me and asked me to come in. I told her I just stopped by to see if she was okay. She insisted on me coming in so I did and stayed about 15 minutes. I am happy and relieved that everything is just fine with her. She as been walking a little latter than usual and we just haven't run into each other. We had such a nice chat and she gave me a big hug and told me how nice it was that I checked in on her. We exchanged last names and telephone numbers so I will be able call to check on her now. I told her to call me if I can ever do anything for her. She really is a special lady and I'm so glad we met and are friends. :-)
I continued my walk and headed back home the with a happy heart.
Didn't see any wild life except for birds and squirrels.
I walked 7 miles.
Ken is out this morning but we will meet up later after lunch. Don't know what the rest of the day has in store for me, so I will just have to see what turns up.
Make your Saturday a good one.
Time is the coin of your life.
It is the only coin you have,
and only you can determine how it will be spent.
Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
