Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

How much money?

The temperature was a few degrees colder than yesterday morning.   Only 22 degrees, but like yesterday there was no wind and the sun came out and it was really quite pleasant for walking.  Walked straight down the road and turned right and walked to Font Hill Wetland Park and walked around the little pond.  I don't walk there all that often because I have to walk in the road for a while and during the week there are so many cars.  Hardly any cars at all early on a weekend morning.  All around the pond is only a mile but worth walking there to walk around it.
It was just me and these two geese walking around the pond on the path there.
Down close to the water I spotted this Red Winged Black bird sitting on a punk.  He stayed just long enough for me to get a picture.
Only saw a few other people along the streets I walked.
I walked 6.4 miles.

I love the new bread machine.  The bread came out even better than with the old machine.  It is not so dense and even though the top had an odd shape to it, the loaf was a better size.  The bread was so good that we had bread for our snack last night.  I'm glad I dropped the old machine.  : )  The recipe book that comes with it has lots of good sounding recipes in it and I will probably try most of them.  Seems I picked out a popular bread machine - a few of you have the same one.  Go out and buy this one Vee. : )

Ken was home this Saturday morning so I made us pancakes for breakfast.  Thought about having toast, but decided on the pancakes.

On my photo blog I've been posting odd or funny street sign names on Fridays.  I ran out of pictures and couldn't post one yesterday so today we drove around collecting street signs.  We didn't have far to go till we found quite a few of them.

Ken always throws his change into a couple of little crocks and when they are filled we dump them into these old kitty litter plastic containers.  They were getting pretty heavy so we brought them to the bank and put them in the coin machine and then deposited the money into my savings account.  Isn't Ken nice?  He always gives me the money.
Change certainly adds up.  Take a guess on how much money is here in these two containers?  I'll tell you on Monday.
The rest of the afternoon I will be home doing a little of this and that.  I will read some more of Water for Elephants which I started last night.  I liked it right away and I'm sure I will be finished with it in no time.  Ken is going to read it after me.

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday.  Nice and sunny here, even if it is quite cold for this time of year.  Snow is supposed to be coming tonight, but I choose not to believe it.  : )  I do not want snow!!

A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )

Haha... i am glad you are glad that you dropped the bread machine...

And that seems like a lot of money Karen... any plans with it? You can give it for Japan relief probably- just a thought!

And now I am all certain that i am going to read the book.

I'll guess the jars held $56.78. If I'm right, you must fly to CO and take me to lunch... I liked Water for Elephants. Have you read The Room - I liked it.

My guess is that the jars hold $80.57. I picked an odd number because everyone else did :-). I am such a followers.

I save coins too. During the year I put my coins in a container, and in April I rolls the coins (by hand), and turn them in for cash at the end of the month. I use that money for the The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival held in our area during the first weekend in May. I typically have about $100.00 saved up. Now I spend more than $100 at the fair, but at least I have offset the expendure with the coins I saved all year.

How long has it taken you to find that much change?

Okay, I did go buy the machine last night. We made a loaf of bread today. Awful. The worst. I'm still suffering. So this afternoon, we went shopping again and bought some King Arthur bread machine flour. I hope that that makes all the difference. What level do you put your crust on? I put mine on medium and we had to hack through it. Believe me, Karen, I nearly called you whining about the whole thing. I told my daughter and she said, "Practice makes perfect." True, but practice is also expensive. If you have any tips, let me know.

We are cold and wet today, I am so glad you are enjoying your B-macine. I have one and haven't used it in a while, I told dh today that i wanted to get it going again. it is about 13 yrs, old.
My dh gives me his change too, I love it when he has a lot in his pockets. LOL
I enjoyed the quote.
Enjoy your weekend.

The geese picture looks like you caught them and they separated. I still think you're going to catch a picture of that beaver. I'd say you have $32.86. Pancakes sounds wonderful on these cold mornings. I've had a bad cold since Friday, not up to blogging. Stay warm, doesn't look like we'll get much snow after all, thank goodness.

No Sun here today or yesterday. We actually have a dusting of snow. I can image there is quite a bit of $$ in those jars :)

Hmmm... I'll guess $78.32. My husband has a little coin sorter in his closet. Every night he drops his coins in and it sorts it into change wrappers. Eventually he takes all the rolled coins to the bank. I think you're getting the better end of the deal :). I'll have to talk to him about that. Ha!
Your new bread machine sounds great. I think I need to get mine out today. It's gotten chilly here, but at least no snow.

Do you think you will go to see the movie, after you finish reading the book? And when the film comes out?

It's a good chance for Robert Pattinson to show if he really has "acting chops." He is the nice young guy, who came to fan-dom, with the "Twilight" series of films.

I'm not a *rabbid* fan of his. ,-) He just seems like a nice person [in interviews and how he handles himself], and I hope he does well, with his career. :-)

Glad you liked the bread!!

Perhaps we should change the title of this posting to "Walking With Geese"!! :)

We love taking our change to the change machine at the bank. You're right: it does always add up!

I wonder if my bread machine even works? I got it as a wedding present and used to use it a lot. We hardly ever have bread here...it's an indulgence I don't allow myself!

I loved the book and would like to see the movie when it comes out.
