Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Choose Life

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you
that I have set before you life and death,
the blessings and the curses;
therefore choose life,
that you and your descendants may live.
Deuteronomy 30:19

Happiness and joy do not come from the outside but from within you.
They are the result of a conscious decision,
a deliberate choice,
one we make each day.
There are many people living in bad situations
they would like to see changed.
But despite the challenges they choose to be happy and joyous.
You face the same choice every day of your life.
Either you choose to passively listen to the devil
and allow him to ruin your life
and make you miserable,
or you choose to aggressively withstand him
so you can live in the fullness of life God provided for you
through His son Jesus Christ.
Make the right choice
and enjoy life like never before.
~Joyce Meyer

This is from a little devotional book that I read from each day. I particularly liked this one.  Hope you do too.

I am not feeling so good today.  I've been fighting off a cold and lost.  I woke up this morning and had no desire to walk so knew I must be sick!!  :-)
Today I'll rest at home and hopefully be able to walk again tomorrow.
Have a blessed Sunday.
Happyone :-)

Feel better, Karen. I'm glad that you listened to your body and didn't push yourself. In a day or two, you'll be right back to walking again. I love this piece by Joyce Meyer. Thank you for posting it.

Cold. Oh Karen I hope you feel better soon. You know what helps me- green tea. You can give it a try. It helped me ward off cold this winter. May be it will work for you as well. Stay put and rest yourself.

xoxo

Hi Karen!
Yes, it is wisdom to listen to your body and rest. Now if only my body would tell me to get up from this chair and move around! I'm not quite up to walking six miles yet, but I'm going to get a hula hoop- one of the new lightly weighted ones for exercise. Hope it is as fun as I remember!!!
Drink plenty of liquids and lots of chicken soup and extra sleep!! Hope you get to feeling better!
Hugs,
V

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Maybe one of your chocolate cookies might help to make you feel better. Best wishes. Jagoda

I like that she says to listen to Satan is "passive" and to listen to the truth of God's Word is being "aggressive," because it is so true. We have to act upon what the Word says. The joy comes in being obedient to Him. But our natural bent is not to live joyously. Karen, you are a great example of choosing joy! Thank you and may you be feeling well very soon.
