Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A stop at the library!!

No snack for me last evening.  I hate to admit it but I've gained a few pounds over the holiday.  I don't usually do that but this year, well I just ate too much. :-(   I don't believe in diets so I thought if I only have a snack every other evening for a while that should get rid of those extra pounds.  I had a cup of tea last night for my snack. So tonight I get to have a snack and I'm telling you, I'm really looking forward to it!!!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This morning it was a chilly 14 degrees when I started out on my walk!  No wind so it really didn't feel like it was that cold.  If felt no colder than yesterday. I walked around the lake.  There were a few more people out today than yesterday but still a pretty quiet walk.  I saw a couple of rabbits - haven't seen any of those for some time.  As soon as they saw me they both hopped into the woods.  I didn't see the frozen snake today.  Maybe he thawed out when it warmed up yesterday and crawled away. :-)  From yesterdays comments it appears many of you don't like snakes.  I kind of like snakes. The Black snake is a good snake which eats mice which is good.  We had a four feet Black snake that lived in the crawl space at the old house who kept the mice out of our house! :-)
I enjoyed my nice cold brisk morning walk.
Todays trek was 6.5 miles.
I never seem to have enough time in the morning to do all the things I want to get done before I have to leave for my knitting group on Tuesday mornings so it's a bit of a rush on Tuesdays.  I didn't even have time to make the bed today.  So I just had to finish up my morning chores in the afternoon.
I had to make stop at the library to pick up an audio book that I had on hold.  You are not going to believe what I did!!  After saying yesterday that I wanted to make a dent in the books that I have at home to read, I found four books that I wanted to read!! When I went up to the counter to check out, not only was the audio book there but another book I had on hold was ready as well.  So I came home with six books!!  AND I already have two other books from the library that I am currently reading!!!  I am just about done with one of them though.  I guess you know what I'll be doing later!
Kim, you were wondering about Honey Bunch Books I mentioned yesterday.  Click HERE to read more about them.
Well, it's time to go and get a few other things done around the house before I can sit down and finish that book.
Hope you had lots to smile about today.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone :-)
I love to be greedy at the library too, just too much to pick from. This is such a good time of year to read and knit!
I think your little frozen black snake may have been a treat for a hungry fox! I know the Honey Bunch series well but haven't thought of them for 50 years! Happy reading to you - my kind of gal.
I'm not surprised you got so many books from the library. Not me. I finished my audio book tonight and will pick up the sequel tomorrow on my way to work. I can't wait to start it.
There's always something good to be had at the library!
I don't mind snakes -- actually, yes I do. We had a large black snake that lived under our steps until it surprised me one too many times...
I try to like snakes as I know they keep the mouse population down, but they just plain give me the creeps.
Thanks so much for providing the link on the Honey Bunch books. I'm surprised I haven't heard of them before as I love Nancy Drew and the Bobbsey Twins. I am going to be on the lookout for them at the thrift shops as they sound so cute. Where did you find yours?
It sounds like you are well on your way to reaching your reading goal with your newest library books :-)
Kim, I found the Honeybunch books in antique shops and book fairs. I've been collecting them for years. A couple of the books I've had since I was a kid. I still don't have all of them and I'm still on the lookout for them. They are not as easy to find as the Bobbsey and Drew books.
I very much like snakes. Much maligned animals. Art
