Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home getting work done

A cold morning walk for me today.  Temperatures in the low 20's with a mix of sun and clouds once the sun rose. Once again it is pretty dark when I leave with the days getting shorter.  I put on lots of layers of clothes and was hot in the house.  Couldn't wait to get outside to cool off. :-)  Stayed toasty warm all through my walk.
Walked along the neighborhood paths and some on the streets.  The photo is just one of the paths I walked along.  There is a footbridge up ahead that you can barely see.
Saw a young deer on the edge of the path and it just stayed there as I walked by.  Didn't see mom anywhere around.
A few people were out walking but not many.  A couple of people walking dogs and another older couple who are out walking most mornings.  There are quite a few older people who walk every day.  It is nice to see older people out there who are in great shape.  Gives me hope that I too will still be out there walking when I'm 80!!
I walked 6.3 miles.

I finished up the knitting project I was working on yesterday.  It is a Christmas Stocking.  If you are interested in seeing it and getting the pattern click HERE.

I finally got the tinsel on the Christmas tree today.  Not many people put tinsel on their trees any more but to me it just doesn't seem finished without it.  I think the tree looks so pretty trimmed with the shimmering sliver.

Home today and I got some of my weekly cleaning done.  A few more things yet to do and I'll get to them in just a little while.
I breezed through ironing shirts while listening to an audio book, Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber.

We are going out to eat at one of the many Mexican restaurants around here for dinner and I'm looking forward to that. :-)  I may even wear a dress for change tonight.  I bet Ken will be surprised!

Well, time to go and take the clothes in off the line.
I'm hoping your Thursday is a good one.
Happyone :-)
It would be nice if the Food and Drug Administration stopped issuing warnings about toxic substances and just gave me the names of one or two things still safe to eat.

Is it safe walking at that hour alone? I know it is peaceful...but predators seek peaceful too

thought of you today as I passed our local pond...half frozen over...and tons of geese

I did go look at the Christmas stocking and went into shock that you had made it that quickly. Impressive! I think you'll still be going strong at 80. Very.

Pretty stocking!!
I did some shopping today -- at Costco and then at Pier 1. Home alone (yet again) completing the decorating and cleaning off my desk -- which seems to be an never-ending job!

I have no doubts you will still be walking at 80.
I went to see your stocking and think it is so cute! You sure do accomplish a lot in a day.
I love tinsel. It reminds me of decorating the tree with my dad many years ago. Back then we would also take the tinsel off and save it for the next year.
Hope you enjoyed your dressy dinner :).

Yes, it's dark, early in the morning! Which I only see, from inside my windows. ,-)

Oh yes tinsel! Love the look. Never wanted to put it on. -sigh-

And I'm here to say THANK YOU for taking the time to comment a reply, to my blogging Questions. Thank you!
