Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A cold morning

This morning was colder than yesterday and there was frost about but it was still a great walking day.  Very quiet and still out, I hardly saw anyone and didn't see any wildlife!!  I walked 6.8 miles and stayed on the roads.  No school because of election day so there were even less cars on the road than usual.  It felt like a Sunday morning.
Wore my new shoes and they were perfect - feet feel great.  After wearing the new ones I realized how bad the old ones were.  They didn't hurt my feet but the padding and support inside was just about gone.  Happiness is a new pair of walking shoes! :-)
I even found a lucky penny which always makes me smile.

Giving Thanks Day Number 2
I went to my knitting group this morning and that is what I am thankful for today.  I am thankful that I found this group of people when I needed an extra friend or two.  We have laughed, knitted, and shared a part of our lives with each other.  I am thankful to be part of this group.

I made the cheesecake this afternoon and if you would like the recipe just click on   cheesecake .  I noticed there isn't a picture of it there so I took one and put it up today.  It takes them a while to post pictures so it won't be up for a day or two.  This cake is sooo good.  I love to lick the batter left in the bowl.  I usually leave just a little extra in the bowl so I get to eat more of it! :-)  Just another one of life's little pleasures.

I have a few things to do around the house and maybe have a little time to sit and read before Ken comes home and I have to make supper.

Hope your Tuesday was a happy one.

some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull,
while others bright, some of weird names,
but they all have learned to live together

Cold here today; hardly any traffic on my road, no school in the county because a couple of buildings are used as polling places.
Cheesecake was just about my husband's favorite thing to make.
28 degrees here this morning...that's why I walked in Walmart. More power to ya'.

It is truly surprising to me to see frost on the ground there. I've hardly seen it here. Glad for your new walking shoes and glad that you put them on, took off, and they didn't hurt. That's always good. What a great thing to be thankful for...to be a part of a special group.

It is cooler here too but not nearly cold enough for frost yet and we finally had rain. Yeah!
I'll have to look back at that cheesecake recipe. Who doesn't love cheesecake!

Yup! The frost has done in all the pots, so I guess even the vestiges of summer are now gone!

I'm with you on the shoes, Karen. I like the "crayons" quote. I am going backpacking in the mountains this weekend. If I don't freeze to death, I'll write all about it. :)

So nice that your new walking shoes passed the test on your walk. Nothing like a comfortable pair of shoes.
We broke down and turned the heat on last night:).
