Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cheesecake, apples and a birthday

 Sunrise 7:37
Sunset 6:04
Another cold morning and I guess it will be from now on.  Not a problem for me, I like walking in the colder weather.  I just have to wear more clothes.  Every season to me is good walking weather!  There is a saying that says, There is no bad weather, just the wrong clothes.  I walked around the lake today and then some and my walk was 7.2 miles. Again I didn't see any wildlife.  I think because it's so dark I just don't see any.  The sun isn't up and shining until I'm almost home.  That will be changing come this weekend though with the time change.  Not that many people out but enough to have a few good mornings to say.

Giving Thanks Day number 3
I am thankful for HUGS.
I really like a nice big hug.
A hug from Kenny makes me feel loved, content and at peace.
Thanks Kenny, for all those hugs. :-)

I just checked and MealsMatter still haven't posted the picture of the cheesecake so I'm posting it here in the meantime.
We still haven't had a piece of it yet, but will tonight.  It is so hard to look at it and not eat a piece.  Today is Ken's birthday and the cake is his birthday cake.

Made a list and went to the commissary.  A good trip there and back.  No lines, got all that I needed and everyone was driving very well today. :-)
I bought a bag of apples and set them all out here on the counter.  I'm planning on making something good tasting with apples tomorrow, just don't know what yet.

This evening I'm taking Ken out to Outback for his birthday dinner.
Till he gets home I'll be knitting and reading.

Happyone :-)

P.S.  I do have crayons and coloring books and like to color.  Do you color?

Yes, I do like to color and Nan and I did some coloring last summer when she could still use her hands.

I like your green apples lined up on the counter like that...nice little color pop.

Happy Birthday to Ken! Hope you'll give him a nice big hug and get one in return. Have a happy time out.

Happy Birthday to Ken. I am feeling quite confident that you will be receiving a nice long hug once he tastes that cheesecake you made for him. Looks yummy and I'm not usually a fan of cheesecake.
I have been promising my husband an apple crisp ever since we went apple picking. I will be making it for dessert tonight.
Enjoy your meal at the Outback.

I see you have a chilly dawn, too. You and I will have to bundle up when we venture outdoors. Happy Birthday to Ken - his cheesecake looks yummy!

"No bad weather, just the wrong clothes." I'm always impressed how gear and clothes can make all the difference!
