Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Kitchen crash

I spent some time up in the loft going through some more of my old stuff.  Things that I have been saving for years and really don't want anymore so I threw a lot away.  I read it all first though which takes a lot of time.  I've kept journals for years and years and I'm going to shred them all.  So one day soon I'll spend the day shredding!!

I heard a crash in the kitchen and ran in there to see what it was.  There is a bottom cabinet in the corner with two lazy susans in it.  The top one crashed down on the bottom one and the pole that both lazy susans are attached to came out from the top.  There were just spices and baking stuff on them so nothing was broken.  I just took everything out and put them in other cabinets.  Took the lazy susans out and I'm not going to put them back.  I put my mixer, bread machine, and waffle iron there instead.

I read a little while before Ken came home from work.  We had a nice dinner and then he had to go back to work for a few hours.  It was nice he got to come home for a little break.

After my shower I plan on reading until he comes home.  If it's not too late we are going to watch Nurse Jackie which we got from Netflix today.  Have never seen the show before.

That's about it for today.
Have a good night all.
Happyone. :-)

You and I are on the same schedule: I also cleaned closets, getting rid of "stuff". I am reading my old journals (many, many) and plan to shred them. Maybe we could have a shredding party!

When I read the title of your post, I envisioned something being broken. Glad to hear that wasn't the case, but too bad about your lazy susan.
I just came across a journal that my mom had given me many years ago. I had never written in it. I guess it's just as well. Saves me from having to shred it in a few years :).

That must've given you a start. I'd have jumped through the ceiling. Are you sure that you want to shred your journals? Really, really sure? Did you write about historical events, social events? Just tear out the too personal stuff and leave the rest. It could buy a great-great-great grandchild a college education one day. :D
