Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A cloudy morning for my walk today but I did get a peek at this sunrise before it clouded over.  I walked around the lake.  Walking along the path just as I got to the lake 8 deer crossed the path in front of me.  They were various ages and looked like an extended family.  I saw the Rouen ducks and got this not so good picture.  Six of them took off flying as I walked up the hill to take the picture.  These started running away so I was lucky to get even these.  I'll work on getting a better picture!  A cute little chipmunk ran in front of me across the path too.  They are quick little things!  I still see the rabbits around but not as many.
Not all that many people out by the lake which always makes walker around the lake nicer.

The new recipe I made last night was called Spicy Pork Chop Casserole.  It was okay but not something I'll make again. Though the pork chops were delicious the bottom mixture not so good.  I think it had too many different spices and I wouldn't put in the tomatoes.  I'm not bothering writing the recipe here unless someone would like it.  A while after supper we headed over to Rita's and had our snack there.  We both got a Gelati with vanilla ice cream and raspberry ice.

I did a few things around the house and then decided to go out to the library.  Last night I finished reading the last book in the Miss Julia series, Miss Julia Renews Her Vows.  I'm sure there will be more books added to this series.  As I've said before the books are a bit silly but fun to read.  Anyway I returned that one and only got one more book out (have 2 others checked out already).  While out I stopped for some gas and I'm happy to say that today I had a nice pleasant ride. That's my car parked in the library parking lot far away from all the other cars.

I got home around noon and was really hungry.  That's when I realized that I had forgotten to eat breakfast!!  So for my breakfast/lunch I made myself a pancake.  I usually just make pancakes on the weekend so it was a nice treat to give myself. I even put a dollop of whipped cream on it.  :-)

I have a few more house chores to do yet before I can sit and knit or read.
Hope this Thursday you find some happiness scattered throughout your day.
Happyone :-)

Recipes can be so aggravating sometimes! It is (for me) so disappointing when a lot of effort and ingredients go into a dish and the finished product turns out just so-so. Well, I'm glad the chops tasted good anyway.

Thanks for stopping by my special request blog today. I like your idea for helping out. Thanks from me and the shelter doggies! Have you ever done any posts about your Sammy? (hint!)

Hope the rest of your day is a good one. =)

Yay! The Rouen ducks held court and allowed you to get a quick shot. I knew that it was just a matter of time. Sorry about the recipe...my tomato pie turned out well the first time and awful the second. I can't figure it out...it can't be me, can it?

Disappointing about the pork chops.
Chipmunks are fast, aren't they?? We have a whole family living under our front step. They whiz by us!

That's so disappointing when a new recipe turns out just so-so. Hopefully your Rita's dessert made up for it :).
Glad to hear your day on the road was smoother.

Isn't it interesting...? That at both day-break and day-end, the sun will sometimes seem to peek through the clouds?

Actually, it often seems [at evening] that the sun peeks UNDER the clouds of a dark day. For a few minutes. Or seconds. :-) Sweet, when one happens to see it!
