Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Good Day

 Sunrise 6:35
Sunset 7:40
I had a nice morning walk around the lake.  The morning was cool and sunny but it warmed up fast and was hot the rest of the day.  I saw the white egret while walking over one of the foot bridges and stopped to take a photo and watched it fly away.  I can't believe so many people just kept on walking and didn't stop to watch.  As I got around the other side of the lake I watched a herd of deer (about 8 or 9 of them) run across the path and head into the trees.  Kathy, they looked like they were headed over your way!!
Quite a lot of people out walking again, there were fishermen at the edge of the water and two boats out on the lake.  I stopped to watch a man flying a remote control airplane for a little while.
My son David called again from NJ and we talked walked together for a while! :-)
I walked just a bit over 6 miles.

Last night I made a batch of Lemon Poppy Seed muffins so Ken could take a couple to work for breakfast.  No recipe for these.  I used a Betty Crocker mix and I just had to add water.  Easy but they are very good.

I went to the Tuesday morning knitting group and enjoyed my time there.  The other Corvette wasn't there today.  I don't think I'm ever going to get a reply to the note I left.

From there I stopped off at the library.  Just dropped off a book and didn't check out anything else.  While there, I ran into Jennifer, a friend from church.  I told her I'd just come from a knitting group and she said she has just recently started knitting and asked about the group.  She might come join us some Tuesday. :-)

I talked to my daughter Debbi on the phone today too! :-)  Nice to talk to both kids in the same day!

My parents will be moving back to NY in the spring into a smaller house and have to get rid of some stuff.  Years ago I gave my mom a hutch that I got tired of and now that they won't have room for it I am going to get it back.  This is a good thing and I'm looking forward to having it in my kitchen again.  I have to make room so today I emptied out a cabinet and carried it up two flights of stairs to the loft.  It wasn't very big so I didn't have too much trouble.  I still have another piece of furniture to put somewhere else but haven't decided where yet.  I'll be getting the hutch in a couple of weeks.  The wood is dark pine and I think my colorful Fiestaware will look nice on it.

Out for pizza tonight for supper.  Then we stopped at Target to pick up a few things.
I got a new black purse.  I NEEDED a nice one for church!

In a little while we will watch another episode of Dexter.  We are on the last disc of season 4.  Tonight our snack will be ice cream.  I'll be doing a little knitting also.  Until then I'll go take my shower and then read.

Hope you're Tuesday was a good one!
Happyone :-)

I always think it's a good day when I talk with both kids, too. Isn't it cool to get a piece of furniture back that you'll be able to put to such great use, especially now that you have such a nice lot of room. You're right, the Fiestaware is going to be beautiful against that wood. A herd of deer? Never have seen that many at once, but I'm not getting up to walk six miles to see them either.

How nice to talk to both of your kids. I am still waiting to hear from my son to know he made it to Australia safe and sound. I'll feel better once I hear from him.
How fun to have a (somewhat) new piece of furniture to play with. I hope you'll share it with us once you fill it with your Fiesta ware.
I took your poll this time.

I know what you mean about talking to both kids on the same day. I have three and love when I get to talk to all three on the same day!
I bought that exact lemon muffin mix and I'm glad to hear that it turned out so good. I'll be making it soon.

Guess I am luckier than most. I see my son and daughter several times a week. I am also blessed that they live so close.

New folks are always welcome to our knitting group. I hope she decides to come.

Your joyful perspective on life and gratitude make your blog a delight to visit. I'm happy that you'll be getting your hutch back. Maybe we'll get a picture of it once you have it in its place and that fiestware is tucked inside?
Have a great day!

I am making a Lemon cake tomorrow or tonight for my moms 83rd birthday. Hope I can get her to take a bite. It is her fav. Don't worry it won't go to waste. LOL!! Some friends of mine have started a walking club . I would love to join. They walk around one of our lakes that is close to town almost every evening. I am going to make plans to go some evening. Good walking.
