Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

An early post

Sunrise 6:08
Sunset 8:18
A cloudy morning for walking and though I wouldn't exactly call it cool, it wasn't all that hot either. A few sprinkles of rain was just enough to keep me cool but not get wet. I walked 6.2 miles around the lake and there were few people about. Maybe the threat of rain kept them away. I haven't seen the white egret in quite a while so it was a treat to see it this morning over by one of the small islands in the lake. I've been seeing a lot more ducks lately and less geese. The usual bunnies were along the edge of the path and some real tiny ones too. The little ones are extra cute!

Yesterday on the way to the lake I saw a deer with her two babies. If you care to take a look at the pictures of them I posted them on my photo blog HERE.

Yesterday morning was a bit hectic getting things done before I left for church.
And last night when I went to wash my face to get ready for bed I noticed that I had forgotten to put makeup on. So I walked around all day without any makeup. I don't wear very much, just a little eyeliner, mascara and a little foundation but still ......

It's cloudy out now but the sun is supposed to be coming out later, so I did put the clothes out on the line. Hope that is true and I won't have to bring in wet clothes later.

I will be staying home today and getting some things done around the house.
I'm posting a bit early today so I might post again later tonight.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

I was up and out really early this morning, too. It poured on the other side of 29. Will try to get to the gym within the next hour or so.

Loved the pictures of the deer. I know that most people think of them as a problem, but I think they are beautiful and graceful. A joy to watch - even if they pop out unexpectedly, like one did with me the other day - causing a bit of an increase in heart rate for both us. :-)

Just to let you know that I did actually start my morning walking today.
I took my dog along, and let her set the pace, which gave me time to stop and see the wildflowers.
When I can start my day with a walk and a prayer time, it's just a better day all around.

I went to your photo blog to see the deers. The mom and her babies are so sweet. Great pictures.
Hope your clothes didn't get wet outside.

Raining here in the mountains, too. The forest is very green. Glad you are seeing wildlife on your walks - makes going out even more worthwhile.
