Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No Luncheon today

I took this sunset last night from the back deck of my house.
It was nice and cool this morning on my walk. When I stepped out the door at 6:30 I was even a bit chilly at first, but I did warm up once I got walking. Just walked my 6 miles along the streets today. Saw lots of runners out and a few walkers, all in the road. I was the only one I saw using the sidewalk. I stopped to take this picture of Black Eyed Susan's along the edge of the sidewalk.
I was supposed to meet Ken at a luncheon today that was given for the volunteers from the golf tournament that we took the pictures for a few weeks ago. When I got back from walking there was an email from him saying the luncheon was canceled. The president of the foundation decided to play tennis during one of those very hot days. I am sad to say that he collapsed from dehydration, fell hitting his face and head and was seriously injured.

Since lunch was canceled that left me free to go my Tuesday morning knitting group. It was nice knitting outside. It was cooler than it has been and every once in a while a nice cool breeze could be felt.

Last night we watched Paul Newman in HUD which we got from the library. I didn't like it much. Very depressing. I had some vanilla fudge ice cream and that cheered things up. :-)

Can't seem to get motivated to do much of anything the rest of the day so I'm just going to go out on the deck and read or knit.

Enjoy your Tuesday
Happyone :-)

and the rest of the day will take care of itself.

Glad you didn't miss today's knitting group. For a change the weather was beautiful.

I hope your lunchen friend recovers soon. It is to hot to do much outside. Our air is out so we are waiting for the repair man. It is getting warm in here.
I have to say Paul Newman sure was cute in HUD but I can't say I ever watched all the movie so I must of not liked it either. I like Cool Hand Luke the best I think. Stay cool.

I saw that same sunset. It was almost as spectacular as the night before.

I'm looking forward to spending time with you on Thursday!

It's been very hot out here in WA state too, although we did have a reprieve today, but last night (I have to admit) around 10:00 p.m. I thoroughly enjoyed an icecream Sundae! I agree, it does seem to bring some cheer!

Oh! That's the secret! Being pleasant until 10 that is... I need to write that on my chalkboard. You always find the good ones!

I'm sorry to read about the man who is so injured. The lesson is that we really need to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us I guess. Let us know how he does.

Ice cream can nearly cure anything. Maybe I'll go get some now...

The sunset is so pretty and the cooler temps sound refreshing.
I'm sorry to hear about the man who was injured. I hope he will recover soon and completely.
Vanilla fudge ice cream sounds like it would cheer you up after a depressing movie.

Sorry your plans were changed -- I felt that way on Monday. Yesterday I ran out and got my hair done -- that always makes me feel better!
Today I went to the gym and did over an hour of cardio and then about 20 minutes of weights.
