Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Day to Enjoy

Ah, such a pretty morning for taking a walk. It rained yesterday and during the night and this morning the sun was out drying things up. Walking along the paths I could hear the water dripping from the tree tops and falling down through the leaves and in the back ground hear the birds singing their happy morning songs. I thanked God for letting me hear such a beautiful morning. :-)
I kind of followed my connect the path route, but made a few deviations from it. It was one of those mornings when I just wanted to wander around.
A path I walked down.
I love that I have the lake to walk around but some times it nice to walk these paths because not many people walk here when I'm walking. It's nice having all this to myself once in a while.

Walking along a street I walked across a bridge over a little stream.
I looked down and saw this Mallard duck couple enjoying the morning too.
I always wear my pedometer when I walk and it comes in handy for these days when I don't walk a known route. I walked until I had gone 6 miles. I'm sure if I didn't have my pedometer on, I would have walked longer. :-)

I thought my breakfast looked so good that I took a picture of it.
Nice and colorful.
I poured half of the milk on my cereal and drank the other half.
I am happy to say that my dad has finished his radiation treatments and has done very well. Everyone is just amazed how well he did and that he had no side effects. He goes back to the doctor at the end of August for blood work and will find out the results in early Sept. I shall keep praying that the news will be good. I thank you for all your prayers!!

My parents went to visit some friends who live in Nevada. While there they visited Red Rock Canyon. My mom sent me this picture of the two of them. Don't they look great!! ?:-)
I'm staying home today. I got some computer work done, more laundry hung up outside and a few chores done. I'll have my lunch in just a bit, and then see what the rest of the day brings.

Happy Thursday to you!

Yes, wonderful news about your day and they do both look fantastic and happy. Ahhh! That's where you get it from. Yes, quiet walks are rare, but wonderful, especially with scenery such as you enjoy. Thank you for taking a picture of your breakfast...wonderful colors!

Great picture of your parents. I am sooo happy to hear that your Dad is doing so well and didn't have any side effects to contend with. I will continue to remember him in my prayers.
Your breakfast looks so cheery and a healthy way to begin the day.
