Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No rain this morning on my walk. :-) It was cloudy but I did see some peeks of blue sky before it all turned cloudy again. The sun has tried to come out a few times today out but so far it is just not happening. I had a nice walk around the lake. Just walked around the path by the water and then walked down the street and down a neighborhood path which made my walk a tad farther at 6.8 miles. A picture I snapped while walking around the lake. The lake is hidden by the trees and all the greenery. Snapped yet another picture of the heron down on the rocks by the water. I saw it a few more times in different places or maybe there are a few of them. I saw one fly over my house as I was getting home too.
There are a number of pavilions like these around the lake where groups can meet and have picnics. Not sure if they are free, you might have to rent them. Ken's work will be having their annual work picnic there some time next month. The two pavilions in the picture over look the lake.

Dinner last night at Red Lobster was very good. I had a salad, baked potato, stuffed flounder, and shrimp scampi in garlic sauce. Couldn't finish it all so brought it home and ate the leftovers for lunch today.
Ken had to go back to work after dinner so he just dropped me off at the house and went to work. He didn't get home till a little after 11.
I spent the time reading and finished The Double Comfort Safari Club by Alexander McCall Smith. It is the latest in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. The book was okay but not as good as the others. Some of the characters were hardly mentioned and I missed them. Maybe it is time to put an end to this series now.
A quote from the book:
The words I am happy to change made Mma Makutsi think. What Mma Ramotswe said about herself was probably true: when change came along, she often seemed to welcome it, or at least accept it. There were many people who did not - who harped on about the past and how things used to be, who never understood that some things have to be different as time passes.

After doing my morning routine, I went out to do a couple of errands. Stopped at the bank and Target where I bought a birthday present. I also bought a new blouse for myself. My car is very dirty after driving in the rain yesterday. I was going to wash it today but it's still not that nice out. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for doing that.

So I guess I'm off to knit some more on a scarf I'm working on. It would be nice to get that finished. Then back to reading the next book in the cat series which I started before this last book. I have another book started upstairs and I'm listening to two different audio books too. I should wrap all these up before I start on another one!

A happy Wednesday to one and all.
Happyone :-)

Now that's the truth! Ken is working some long hours. Ackk. What a lovely spot for a company picnic or a family reunion or a church fellowship!

That does look like a lovely setting for a picnic. I was at Red Lobster last week for lunch. I had the shrimp bruschetta appetizer which was plenty big and of course I had to have one of those yummy biscuits :).
Hope you enjoy your Wednesday evening.

Walking around the lake seems so entertaining -- like Christmas; one never knows what gift will be presented next!
