Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Mother's Day Prayer

By Joy Bradford

Creator of life,
We give You thanks for a special day to honor mothers. Thank You for those who gave life. For those who carried us in their bodies and were among the first to hold us, we are grateful. Thank You for mothers who gave birth through their hearts and then raised children as their own.

Heal any pain linked to our mothers. Open new levels of understanding. Let us forgive their mistakes as well as our own. Take away any regrets that we feel. If there is any brokenness, restore us with Your tender care.

For disappointed mothers today, we ask for peace and acceptance. For adult children who neglect their mothers, we ask that You open their eyes.

For those whose mothers no longer live, help keep the good memories with thankful hearts. For those mothers are still around, remind us that it is a privilege to care for them. Time is precious.

You, Father, are a loving parent who knows and meets our needs. You set the example as You freely grant us grace. We want to be more like You when we parent children of any age.

Thank You for all the women who nurture and protect the young. They are unsung heroes and we realize they are sent by You. As females, make us aware of people need mothering and then let us honor You by opening our hearts and lives to meet their needs.

For the gift of all mothers, we give You praise. Amen

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to you all.
Have a wonderful day.

Happy Mothers Day Mom.
I love you so very much, and I am truly thankful, and fortunate, to have had a mother like you.

That is a beautiful comment above! And a beautiful Mother's Day prayer. I've been enjoying catching up a bit. What a nice gift from Debbi and yay for new shoes and wonderful shot of that deer and the geese and the pretty little bridge. Makes me want to walk down that path with you. I could keep up for about 45 seconds so we'd have to talk fast. Ha!
