Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The sun is back

Yesterday and today there was plenty of sunshine on my walks. Yesterday I walked around the lake and walked my usual 6 miles. Nice to walk in the sunshine. This morning I walked my connect the path route. It was quite chilly with a breeze kicking up and I wore a few layers. It felt more like a fall morning but it was gorgeous. The air had that nice crisp clear feel. Makes you want to breathe in big breaths of fresh air and you're just thankful to be outside! :-)
A nice sunny path to walk along.
I stopped at these swings and had a bit of a swing on them. Nothing like swinging on a swing to make you feel like a kid again.
I finished reading Happens Every Day by Isabel Gillies. When I picked up this book in the new book section of the library I thought it was fiction, but when I got it home I realized it was a true story. It is written by a mom with two young sons and tells the story of the breakup of, she thought a happy marriage. It is very sad and heartbreaking at times and I cried quite a bit while reading it. If I had known it was true and so sad I wouldn't have read it. So if you need a good cry this is a good book.

I went to my Tuesday knitting group yesterday. A good group of about a dozen or so people. I sat at one end of the table by Peggy. She was telling us her story of her liver and kidney transplants. She had a liver transplant twelve years ago and from all the medication she had to take from that, her kidney failed. Three years ago she had a kidney transplant and her husband was the donor. She is just fine today and likes to tell her story because she wants people to know how life goes on and we get through the things we have to and can come out well and happy. She is happy, loves life and has such a positive attitude. She is an inspiration. Oh yeah, she also loves to knit!!! :-)

I'm home today, doing a few things around the house this morning and now I'm about to have some lunch. This afternoon I'm starting another book.
I'm thinking we should go for pizza for supper this evening.

Hope your having a great Wednesday and you have sunshine where ever you are.
Happyone :-)
Contemplation often makes life miserable.
We should act more, think less,
and stop watching ourselves live.

6 miles? How long does it take to walk that much? Is it a fast, exercise or a pleasant stroll? My wife wanted me to walk with her, but she does a casual meander, while I like a more determined pace. It took a long time before I could feel comfortable going at her pace.

CraverVii, I walk at a fast pace, about 4 miles an hour. I do slow down to take pictures or sometimes chat with people.

Hi Dear Karen,

This is a beautiful post. I loved the pictures. Your post title just reflects the intensity. And Peggy is really an inspiration. I am having a bad time these days and can hang up on anything beautiful and good. Thankyou for sharing this. i loved this. It is an inspiration.

We're seeing some sunshine today for the first time in several days, but I'm doing yard work instead of walking.
Pizza for supper sounds great to me.

I love to swing (on swingsets). Oops, that didn't quite sound right, did it?
Peggy has a very inspirational story to tell. How wonderful that she shares it and remains upbeat.
We have a sunny day today too.
Hope you get your wish for pizza.

Hi ! Yes, housework never ends ;)
We`re having a party at our house at May 9.(our son`s confirmation in church) That`s why I clean a bit extra these days.
I`m glad you got the sun back, it`s so green and beautiful in your photos now. We can learn something from Peggy`s story, I`m glad she is fine now.
Thanks for beeing my blogfriend.

I'm going to look that book up on my Kindle - don't necessarily need to cry, but I do like Memoirs. I can see you pumping your legs on that swing! Sometimes hearing how others navigate turmoil is a good Life lesson. Hope your week remains sunny - more snow here in the high country!
