Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home Today

This morning I walked along the paths and some streets throughout the different neighborhoods. I didn't take any of my mapped out routes but just walked where ever I felt like it. On one back street I walked along everyone was very friendly. Most everyone I saw driving down the street waved at me. One man in a convertible stopped said good morning and asked if I wanted a ride. Maybe he was a bit too friendly! :-) I just kept walking and said no thanks.
Deer, many different kinds of birds, and squirrels were along my route. I saw a ground hog too. This is such a pretty time of the year to walk and it is nice not to have to wear layers of clothes to keep warm and still not so hot when you wish you didn't have to wear any at all!
Pictures today are just a couple of paths that I walked along.
This morning I was out walking at 6:15.
I walked 6.6 miles which was 13,611 steps
Sunrise 6:41
Sunset 7:38

Stayed home today and didn't really do much of anything. It was warm and windy day and we are supposed to be getting rain but so far nothing.
I was knitting a white square for the afghan but something went wrong and I couldn't figure out what, so I ripped the whole thing out. Instead of starting it over I read.

In just a bit we are going to watch a new series for us from Netflix called Damages. Someone recommended it but I don't remember who.
I'll have some oreo cookies for my snack and maybe I'll give that white square another try.

That's it for today.
Hope you had a happy day.
Happyone :-)

Probably the next time you do the white square, it'll go together wtihout a hitch. It strikes me that you could go back to bed and sleep all day for all the work you do first thing every morning. Yes, that guy was way too friendly. Do you carry MACE? Ha!

I've been advised that the best deterrent is a spray can of wasp killer. It has a long shot of over 10 feet and it temporarily blinds someone coming at you. It supposedly works a lot better than Mace. Karen...if you see this guy again, please make sure someone knows about it and then start going a different route. I had something similar happen to me when I was only 18. The guy was awful! And fortunately my boss at the bank arranged for a beat cop to watch out for the late shift girl (rotating) who had quite a walk to her vehicle after work. Its a shame when 'creeps' infringe on our freedoms to walk when we want and where....but I'd rather see you safe. Take care, dear friend.

I like the look of your secluded paths - lots of greenery. My friend from MD said it was 90 already where she lives. That's hard to believe! Here in Denver, the snow is melting and temps are getting warmer. (Thank Goodness!)

I think there is something about Spring that brings out the neighborliness of people (at least those that don't drive convertibles!). The Mark Twain quote is marvelous.

I have to admit that my eyes went wide when I read about the man asking you if you wanted a lift. My word. Very excited about the ground hog, because we don't have them over here and I miss them.

The path you walked along looks very pretty and I think I can see some daffodils blooming in there. It is definitely prime time for walking.
How nice to encounter so many friendly people. Spring seems to put everybody in a better mood. The guy in the convertible concerns me a bit, however.
Have a great weekend and thank you for your sweet comments today.

I love your header picture, it's so pretty. Also am glad to hear you didn't accept that lift.
