Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Driving the new car

Ken went in to work a little earlier than usual this morning so I got up too and started my walk at 6:00. It was almost 50 degrees and no wind and the sun came out too so it was good walking weather. I walked a tad over 6 miles around the lake. I saw a few different people but later on saw most of the regulars just farther along in my walk.
There were a few signs around the path warning of a sick fox someone spotted in the area. Foxes usually are very skittish and ran away, but this one didn't. I kept a lookout for it but didn't see it.
No deer around today, at least none that I saw, but I did see the heron and 4 egrets. Last year I only saw 2 - nice to see more of them around. The sea gulls were back too.
Someone stopped and let me cross the street and I wasn't even in the crosswalk. That sure was unusual, but nice. I hurried along and waved a thank you!
I also found a lucky penny.

Ken went to work in his Vette and left the new Xterra for me. It was my first time driving it and I liked it. It handles well and it didn't take long to feel right at home driving it. Of course it's not as good as my car! :-) I think having a Vette has spoiled any other car for me. I mean once you get your dream car how can you go back to just any old car!! :-)

I finally made it to the commissary. Usually Fridays are a bit of a mad house and I avoid Fridays but it wasn't bad this time. Only a small line. It was nice loading up everything in the back of the Xterra as I had quite a few bags. I have been really good about remembering my green canvas bags. A lady behind me in line said, I remembered to bring my bags from home, only I forgot them in the car!

I got 3 big loads of wash done. Two loads up on the line before I went out and the third one this afternoon when I got home. I'm glad I got all the wash done because the next few days we are supposed to be getting rain. Now I just have to iron. I was going to do that this afternoon but never got around to it.

I didn't read yet today but did get in a little knitting.

Damages came in the mail from Netflix today so we have some TV to watch in just a little while. We have ice cream too so tonight I'm going to have some Cookies and Cream with a topper of chocolate. :-)

I hope your Friday was a happy day for you.
Happyone :-)
Go for it now.

Kind of scary about the sick fox -- poor thing.
Driving a new car is such an adventure!

Nothing like a big vehicle for shopping days! Yikes about the fox...did you have a plan if you did see it?

It could be a sick fox or it might be that someone is feeding it. That (unfortunately) happens in my neighborhood. The foxes I've photographed have no fear of humans - they want a handout. (Which they don't get from me!)

Vee, My plan was to just keep walking and leave it alone.

Barb, The foxes around here are very skittish and ran away. The person who saw this one said it looked mangy too.
