Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

It's getting lighter each morning when I walk. Soon I'll be starting out when it's light. :-) 40 degrees this morning with a bit of a wind but it was nice to see the sun come up.I walked my usual 6 miles around the lake. Saw a lot of familiar faces and stopped for a moment to talk to Barb. She was the first person I talked to at the lake when I first moved here last year. She is a very fast walker and even passes me up. A few deer were about and I'm starting to see more and more rabbits. The geese have all seemed to pair off and I'm looking forward to seeing some babies some time in the future. I'm also starting to see lots of green in the undergrowth of the woods. Things are sprouting up all over. I'm liking this spring weather.

Last night we made a run through the drive through window at Chick-Fill-A for supper. We both got the spicy chicken meal and it is nice and spicy! We got there a little before 7 and I couldn't believe all the people that were there. The line for the drive through went around the whole building and out onto the road. I thought there wouldn't be many people there so late.

I went to the commissary to pick up a few things. On the way there I realized that it was the last day of the month and it's usually crowded then, but not today. Maybe I got there early before the crowds. I saw my friend Jackie there checking out the chicken. So I pulled my cart up alongside of hers and we had a short visit. I'll be seeing her again tomorrow night when we meet with our husbands for dinner. When I got home I put some chicken in the slow cooker with some BBQ sauce. I let that cook for hours and then shred the chicken up. It's good on rolls with some extra sauce.

I've been watching some H&G television shows. I like to see the renovations done on the different houses but I also like to see people looking for new houses to buy. What I find amusing is that when you go back to see the people in their new houses, if they are in the kitchen they are always cutting up vegetables. Like they always eat healthy. I'd like to see some one baking cookies or something!

It was a nice sunny afternoon so I sat outside on the deck and did a little knitting.
Looking down at the bird feeder and bird bath from on the deck.I had them on the deck at one time but it got to be a bit messy. Then I put them in the front, but I didn't sit out there and couldn't see the birds, so now I've put them down there by the garage. Now I can look down and watch the birds. No birds have arrived yet but I'm hoping they will soon.

Just a regular night at home. Some television, a snack, some knitting and later reading.
No Bible study group this week. It was canceled because of Easter. A practice is going on tonight for the Easter Musical.

Hope you all enjoyed your Wednesday and that you had some sunshine in your day.
Happyone :-)

Today was simply lovely, wasn't it? I love having bird feeders -- something always interesting happening!
Enjoyed the photos of the sunrise -- otherwise I wouldn't be seeing it! I did see a beautiful moon about 5 this morning in the Southwestern sky.

Lovely walk - mine here in Denver was breezy but sunny. I have a cold which I got from my Grandchildren. I think I'll eat a cookie - that may make me feel better... I don't think vegetables would do the trick!

We had a beautiful day here on the Plateau of Tennessee to day, so I spent a lot of time in the yard.
Your BBQ chicken sounds delicious.

Hi Dear Karen,

I loved the pictures today. The bird bath is so beautiful. Is that crystal? How did the Easter go for you?

Ratz, there was a practice for the Easter musical last night. The real deal is tomorrow night and Easter Sunday morning.

It looks like the perfect spot for your bird bath and feeder. Good viewing, but less mess on the deck.
I have made the chicken recipe before, but I think I also add a chopped onion. What I like about it (besides it tastes good) is that I have even put the chicken in frozen and it works fine.

Enjoy your spring weather.

Beautiful sunrise shot. =)

I agree about the H&G shows. They DO need to do some baking! I suppose it makes too much mess and clutter for the camera, though.

Gee, that bird feeder looks familiar! =D Is yours a barn? Ours is a schoolhouse. I like the sundial birdbath.

I like the quote. Reminds me of a cross-stitch picture at my in-law's home that says, "Every day above ground is a good one!"
