Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A New Me

It was a few degrees warmer this morning as I walked my 6 miles around the lake and as a result I saw more people out walking. Saw a few of the regulars.
Here's a Good Morning picture for you.
I didn't see any deer today but I saw some rabbits and the usual ducks and geese. The icy spots are getting smaller and maybe with the temperatures getting to the mid thirties today they will be even smaller tomorrow!
This shot is of the small stream I walk along on my way to the lake. The same one that I've posted pictures of when we had lots of rain and it overflowed it's banks.

Well, I finally made that trip to the commissary and spent some time going up and down the aisles loading up my cart. I always feel grateful that I can do that and not have to worry about having enough money! :-) It was a good day for shopping, shelves were full and not a lot of people. Only a short wait on the line. Then back home to unload the car and full up the pantry. It always gives me a good feeling to get that done!

Lately I've been thinking about my gray hair and how I really feel about it. I think I've been talking myself into liking it more than I really do. I like the color but I'm just not ready for gray hair yet so after taking a year and a half to grow out my gray hair, I made the decision to dye it again. Only this time I'm not going to dye it myself, but have my good friend Cheryl, the hairdresser to it for me. :-) So before I went to the commissary I stopped in at the Salon and talked to Cheryl. As luck would have it she had an opening at 3:30 so I made the appointment right then for today.
I wasn't sure exactly what color I should dye it, my natural color is very dark brown but they say you should go lighter than your natural color when you're older. I left the choice to the professionals and this is it!
Before
AfterWhat do you think!?

I was Cheryl's last client so we went out to eat afterwards. From there I went to my
Wednesday night Knitting Group. I missed two weeks while I was out cruising and it was nice to see everyone again. They all thought my hair looked good and some of them didn't even recognize me at first!!
I knitted more tiny little baby slippers for Bonnie.

When I got back home from knitting at 8:45 and Ken wasn't home from work yet (He picked today to work late because he knew I would be out too.) so he still hasn't seen my new hair color.
I had a busy day today and didn't spend much time at home.
I hope this Wednesday gave you many reasons to smile and you made someone else smile too!
Happyone :-)

Your hair looks fantastic and the cut is very becoming!

Oh, I've knitted 4 pair of slippers and I'm making a pair of wrist warmers........

Now if I can just get motivated to start walking again! Wish I had your dedication.

Blessings,

Diane in AL

It is a woman's prerogative to change her mind...you look like a new person and it's what you think that matters! Course, we all want to know what Ken thinks once he's seen it.

You look great, if I do say so myself!

That colour really suits you, Cheryl chose well for you. We're still snowed in and it looks like we may have some sunshine today so I'll be out for another long walk.

Well, I think you look nice before and after! The new look does suit you though. I dye mine also a brown colour but I only have a tiny bit of grey at the front where my parting is...I look like a badger if I don't dye it!

Looking good! Having been through chemo, gray hair beats no hair, but why not use some options if you like? Enjoy the day, Karen. Art

Well, Karen, I just loved your silver hair....it was gorgeous. But I have to agree that it did make you look a bit older. This hair color is beautiful....soft and flattering. Cheryl did good and her creation is a success! Enjoy the new you! Its beautiful. Take care dear friend, God Bless.

Love the new hair color. It makes you look so much younger. Also like the new hair style. I wish Cheryl worked at a shop in my area I would make an appointment with her to have her do my hair.

You made a good decision by dying your hair. You are too young for gray hair. It takes years off your face. You look great!
