Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day to enjoy

No walk around the lake this morning. I walked 6.5 miles down Gray Rock to the end and then turned around and came back home. I don't usually like to back track on walks but I walked up one side of the street and then back down the other side. So it seemed like a different street. :-)
I only saw two other walkers but I saw many cars at school bus stops causing a few traffic jams. As I'm walking my 6 miles and pass by all the cars with kids sitting in them waiting for their bus, I can't help thinking, no wonder why there are so many overweight kids around. They get driven to a bus stop only a block or two from their homes!!
Walking past this tree I noticed an old birds nest so stopped to take a picture.
I thought of you Vee. :-)Here's the sun saying Good Morning to me!Most of the snow is gone now but every so often
I come across a pile of snow like this
where the snow plows piled it high.
As I've said many times before most people don't stop in the crosswalks and I was waiting for the traffic to pass before crossing when some nice person stopped. So with a smile and a thank you wave, I crossed the street. Thank you nice person!! :-)

Bonnie came to the knitting group last night and has relearned how to knit and can now knit some hats for her project. She also said that she thinks I should still knit some booties. It was only that one person that didn't think the hospitals couldn't use them. I am the only one so far making the booties so I think after the dozen hats I'm going to knit I'll just make the mitts and booties.
Hi Lillemor, it was nice to knit with you last night. :-)

I gathered all the long time projects I've been working on over the last couple of years and my goal is to get all four of the following projects done this year.
  1. Lighthouse Needlepoint
  2. Vicktor print Counted Cross Stitch
  3. White Sampler Afghan
  4. Weave-it Square Afghan
I've put this list on my side bar with the hope that if I see them there it will help me get them done.
I'll still do other smaller projects in between working on the big things.
And the ripple afghans that I'm always working on don't count because when I finish one of those I start another one right away.

I did a little knitting and then I was able to get some reading done this afternoon. Ken is meeting some friends for dinner after work so I'm on my own this evening. I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich for supper and had a glass of chocolate milk with it. I haven't had chocolate milk in such a long time and it was so good. :-)

We watched part of the movie Julie, Julia last night and will finish it later when Ken gets home. I like the movie though I don't like it as much as everyone else said they did. It's okay. I think Meryl Streep does an excellent job on the roll of Julia though!

Now I'm off to do a little more reading.

I hope your Thursday was one fantastic day.
Happyone :-)

We finally got some warm temperatures today, so most of our snow is now gone as well. We still have ice in shady spots, but hopefully that will soon be gone as well.

Just remember to spray any of those nests found on the ground real good before you use them in the house! Oh, I've said that already somewhere once upon a time. Chocolate milk...hmmm...so good that stuff. You'll need to keep walking! :D

Sounds like a productive, yet relaxing day. Grilled cheese is always good. I usually like it with tomato soup. Mmm, Mmm Good :)

You are so right about children not walking and being driven everywhere. Whe my children were at school they used to refer to the "car kids" as 'cardboard kids' who would disintegrate if they got wet!
That pile of snow is big isn't it!
