Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A good shopping day

A chilly morning walk today, but the sun came out, there was no wind, and I was properly dressed so I was nice and warm. Some of the wooden bridges were a bit slippery. I walked the paths around the neighborhoods and only met a couple of people. No deer out that I saw, but there were lots of squirrels. I saw a bunny which reminded me that I haven't seen any for quite a while.
Stopped on one of the wooden foot bridges
and snapped this shot.
I walked my usual 6 miles and as usual it made me feel good, and gave me the energy to enjoy this nice sunny day.

I went out today to do a little shopping. No, not Christmas shopping, I needed to get some things for myself. I needed dresses! I don't really like to shop, it's always hard to find things that I like and that are comfortable and I get tired of trying on things pretty quickly. Well, today was a very good shopping day for me and I got some things that I like and that are comfortable. I took 8 things to try on in the fitting room and found 4 things that I liked enough to buy. :-)
Here are the goodies that I found.
A red sweater dress. I'll wear this with my black boots.
Cheryl - I'll probably wear this to your party!!
Another sweater dress.A black blouse to wear with a long black skirt that I have.
And finally a Red Party Dress.
I am pleased with my purchases! :-)

I ate a late lunch once I got back home. Then did a little straightening up around the house. Then I started knitting another white preemie hat for Bonnie's project - this is number 3 so far. I got in a little reading too.
And here I am now.
When I get done here I'll be off to do some blog reading.
When Ken gets here after work we are going to go out to eat. I haven't decided where yet.
BTW - yesterday's meatloaf in the oven turned out just as good as it does in the slow cooker.

I hope your Tuesday is a happy one for you!
Karen :-)
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Glad you had a successful shopping day. It can be sooooo frustrating! Your purchase look very nice. I like that black blouse to go with the long skirt.

I wish I lived in a safe area to walk six miles solo. It must be lovely to share the solitude with no one but God.
Fantastic shopping!
