Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Sunny Morning Walk

Finally after 4 days of gloomy morning walks this morning was cool, crisp, and full of sunshine. One of those days that I just didn't feel like going back home and just wanted to walk all day. Thirst and hunger drove me home. I walked part way around the lake with my walking friend Jeanne. I also saw another walker friend and stopped for a little chat with him too.
I stopped at the edge of the water and sat on a bench for a bit. It was so nice to just sit there for a while. I also took a few pictures of some ducks swimming along which I'll post on my picture blog in a few days.
I also walked down a pathway in a neighborhood
and came upon this trail along the way.
It didn't go very far, only about 1/4 mile.
This wooden lookout place was at the end. I saw a couple of deer while standing there for a few minutes.

I read quite a bit of my book in the afternoon and should finish it later tonight.

Ken and I went out again tonight. This time we went to Red Robin. We had a nice time eating and talking. :-) We plan on seeing each other tomorrow as well.

Tonight will find me watching a bit of television, eating ice cream, knitting and reading.

I hope you found some bits of happiness scattered throughout your day.
Karen :-)
The woods would be very silent if no birds
sang there except those who sang best.

Isn't the sunshine wonderful? It was a glorious day here. Unfortunately both of us had doctor's appointments and were indoors much more than we wanted to be. But we both got good reports so I won't complain.

The sun is always such a welcome sight after a few rainy, gloomy days. We had several rainy days, but today is gorgeous. Glad to hear you and Ken will be having dinner again. Have fun.

That trail looks a bit deserted. I wonder what the platform is for? Maybe high water? If it gets swampy back there I bet it's great bird watching!

Today I did some windows to let some of that glorious sunshine in!
