Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No more beard

On todays walk as I passed the tree that the beaver started on yesterday, I noticed that it too was cut down. Then I noticed on the other trees someone got smart and put a wire cage around the trunks. This should do the trick! :-)The other day when Ken and I were doing a jigsaw puzzle, he stopped for a while and went upstairs. Later he came back down and started working on the puzzle again. We were there for a bit and when I looked up at Ken, I was soooo surprised to see that he had shaved off his beard!!! (He still has the mustache) We have been married for over 37 years and he's only been without a beard for about 5 of those years. (there was a time when he was in the Navy that you weren't allowed to have them) Though I will miss his beard I like him this way too. :-) I wonder how long he'll go before he grows it back again!?

Another day at home doing house stuff - you know that stuff we all have to do!

Later in the afternoon I did go outside on the deck to read for a bit.

I had some chocolate chip cookies in the freezer and I had four of them for my snack tonight.
Well I guess that's about it for today. Hope your Tuesday was a happy one for you.
I'm off to do some more reading or maybe knit a white square.

Happyone :-)
The reason some people don't recognize opportunity
is because it usually comes disguised as hard work.

My husband has had a moustache our whole marriage of 35 years ...I never saw him without it! I'd be so surprised if he ever shaved it off --it would be as if he cut off his nose..lol

I'm having a hard time picturing PopPop without a beard.

hi, ma'am: so why did he cut off his beard this time? any special occasion? i'm trying to get my husband to shave off his goatee (i call it that) but he won't, he trims is is what it is.

the 'caged' tree made me smile, too!

and the saying on opportunity being disguised as hard work.

thank you for this post!

Taryn - Oh, that's right, you've never seen him without his beard.

Cherie - I think he just wanted a change.

I'm glad you noticed quickly that Ken shaved off his beard. I knew a man who shaved his beard off and his wife didn't notice for three weeks! (Not me!) Mike has only shaved off his moustache twice in his life and once was for the military. The other was just for a change; something he won't be doing again. Actually, once we move back to AZ he will be working on growing the handlebar again. :)

Glad to see the fencing going up around the trees. Those beavers are so destructive.

Hope you have a nice Wednesday.

I'm curious as to why Ken shaved off his beard. Maybe he just felt like a change. It must have been quite a surprise for you. My husband has a moustache too but I don't think he'll be shaving it off any time soon. I think it makes him look older but he says it makes him look sexier. Hahaha

That was a great idea about putting wire meshing around the base of the tree. That should keep the beavers at bay for a while.

Have a relaxing evening, my friend!

Hugssss, Susan

Woops. I didn't notice that the beard was gone! I like him with and without.

They finally put the mesh cages around our trees too. After most of them were cut down by the rodents. I said I don't like beavers, right?

I wonder what made Ken to cut it off? My stepfather did that once and we didn't notice for a week!
