Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The past couple of days

I did finish another puzzle on Wednesday. A kitchen which I love!!
We never made it to the Sunset Serenade Wednesday night. Jackie and Kerry came over and we walked to LeeLynn's and had dinner outside on the patio. It's a good thing it was a covered patio because it started to rain and that's why there was no concert for us. We did have a great time over dinner though. We ended up staying there for 3 hours, just hanging out and talking.
We made plans to try for the concert again next week. Hopefully we'll have better luck with the weather.

Yesterday I started yet another puzzle but didn't get very far along with it. Cheryl called and we spent the day together. I met her at her hair salon and we hung out while she got her hair colored and eyebrows waxed. Then we hopped in my car and went for lunch and stopped in at Walmart (needed more yarn for my ripple afghan). Cheryl's sister Lisa works in a medical lab and has just moved into a brand new building so we stopped in to say hi to her and check out the new building. After a few wrong turns we finally found the right building and found her on the 4th floor in her lab. Lisa was kind enough to give us a tour. She works with some real impressive machinery. It was fascinating to see!!!
I then dropped Cheryl off by her car and drove back home.

Not long after Ken came home from work and we went over to Debbi's house. She is getting a new stove and dish washer today and needed some electrical work done before they were delivered so Ken did the job for her.

I met Ken and the woman and her grown daughter at the old house earlier today who were thinking about renting our house. I went over early and aired it out a bit and turned on the AC. I then baked some chocolate chip cookies. By the time they got there the cookies were cooling on the racks and smelled delicious. All three of them ate cookies. I didn't eat any cookies but I did eat cookie dough! :-)
Any way they looked all over the house and said they really liked it. Thought it had a lot of character and liked the yard, but they said it was just too small for the two of them. Oh well, we were not really sure we wanted to rent it out anyway.

So now I'm home and in a little while I'll go and finish the jigsaw puzzle I started yesterday. If not today then tomorrow.

Its been hot and muggy the last few days but I walked every morning anyway. I've actually seen more people than usual out there. I think more people are going in the morning because it is the coolest its going to be. The sun was out earlier today and now the rain is coming down in buckets. I'm sure the sun will be out again soon.

I hope your Friday is a happy day for you. Do a kind deed for someone. It will make YOU happy.
Happyone :-)
People surprise you. Sometimes the person you expect to kick you when you’re down will be the one to help you get back up.

The rain and the intensity of rain we had today was a bit of a surprise!
The kitchen in that puzzle looks so homey!

This weather extends down the Eastern seaboard I see. Sigh. Tomorrow is supposed to be better. I'm becoming moldy myself with all this rain and humidity.

Aww, too bad about the might-have-been renters, but your philosphy is the best to take. If it doesn't work out, it's all part of the bigger plan.

Chocolate chip cookie dough...is there anything better? :D

The kitchen puzzle you finished reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen. They had a stove like that. I'm proud of you for continuing to walk in the hot summer weather.

Everyone told me that you stopped by! Everyone there really likes you and can't believe that you're my grandmother. They all say that you and I are so similar too in the way we talk and move.

I think I came in about an hour or two after you had left.. something like that. Not sure though! Love you!
