Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

I made it out today.

It rained during the night and was still drying out when I walked this morning. It was one of those times when I was hot and cold at the same time. Once again I walked my connect the path route.

The street in front of my house this morning was full of vans, cement trucks, trucks delivering cinder blocks and another delivering floor tiles all blocking the road. They were even getting annoyed with each other because they couldn't get through and there was much horn blowing going on. Things got sorted out and when there was a break I quickly got in my car and left without incident.

I went to Bowie to the Fabian House and got another piece of Polish Pottery. I wanted a loaf pan size but this was the closest they had to it. It was hard to pick out a pattern because I love all of them but I decided on this one. I think this size will work out for baking my banana bread. It always takes longer to bake than the recipe says and with it spread out a bit thinner in this size maybe it will be better. It will be good for meatloaf too.
The little scooper and cork bottle topper I got for my friend Jackie (she is the one who went with me last time for pottery). It's her birthday on the 6th and I just wanted to get her a little something. :-)
The pottery is just one thing that is in the store. There are also a lot of antiques and collectibles and new things as well. I liked this giant tea cup and saucer which is a planter. (spoon inside to show size) I'm going to plant basil in it and keep it by the window over the sink.

When I went back home, once again my street was blocked so I parked across the street in the parking lot. I went out later again and stopped in to see Cheryl at work. I had a little something I wanted to give her. I walked in the back and she was mixing up some concoction to put on someones hair. :-) We couldn't talk because she was really busy.
From there I went to the old house to pick up the mail and to just check things out. All fine there.

This time when I came home my street was clear and I could easily drive my car down the road and put her safely in the garage.

After my supper of Chinese take out which came from across the street in the little shopping center, which by the way has excellent food, I took a 2.8 mile walk. I made a little loop on the paths. There are a lot more cars driving around in the evening but the paths were just as people free now as in the morning. I took this picture of a back yard I passed along the path. I just thought it looked so nice with the tables under the trees. Perfect for a big outside party.
I made the usual walk around the neighborhood when I got back and picked up a few 6 penny nails. I'd hate to get one of them in my tire. Especially because I just got 4 band new tires!!

I sat out on the deck and did a little knitting.
Couldn't decide if I wanted cookies or ice cream for my snack, so I had both. :-) Only two cookies though and half of the ice cream I usually eat. I watched a TV show on PBS all about ice cream. :-) LOTS of us love ice cream.

I'm not even going to start playing Sims tonight because I'll be doing that past my bedtime and I want to read tonight.

So off I go to do that reading now.
Hope you had a happy Wednesday.
Happyone :-)

It sounds as if you had a perfect Wednesday and even got in two walks. I got most of my exercise today by grocery shopping and mowing the lawn. Neither is much fun but both needed to be done.

Sounds like a wonderful Wednesday. I went to the doc yesterday and finally we figured out all this foot pain that dogged me through most of training, the half marathon, and beyond - a large neuroma. I tried a cortisone shot and we shall see if that works. I am going for a tough hike this weekend and that always bothers my foot so toes crossed! Enjoy the day! Art

It was great surprise to see you. I was busy!! Thanks for the surprise gift.

Isn't today perfect? I've spent a lot of time outside. I go to work at noon and see Kathy first! It's just about that time...

Great pottery you selected! I always have trouble with my banana bread getting done in the center, too. If that size works for you, please let us know.

Glad that your weather is improving. I just looked at ours through the 16th and we only have three partially sunny days to look forward to. Ackkk...enough already!

The Polish pottery really is beautiful!
It just finished raining here and the sun is out -- I'm looking for a rainbow.
You probably just missed me at the salon -- was there until about 2.

I hope the new loaf pan works well for baking your banana bread to perfection. But, even if it doesn't it sure will look pretty. How sweet of you to pick up the gifts for your friend.
I can imagine you will be glad when the workmen are done and your street will be peaceful.
