Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Flowers

Stopped to take a picture of this pretty blue weed along the side of the road on my walk this morning. I should know the name of this but I've forgotten it.
Picked up Taryn and dropped her off at work this morning. I went in the salon with her to say hi to Cheryl but she wasn't in yet.

I need some more jeans so I stopped in at Ross to see if I could find anything there. You never know what you'll find so I stop in every once in a while. I always have such good luck finding jeans that fit me there. There weren't many there but I did find a pair that I liked and they only cost $9.99!!! :-)

My next stop was the library. By now you know I'm reading Pillars of the Earth. I've been reading a paper back and since it's a very long book the printing in the paper back is very tiny so I thought I would go and check out the hard cover version. As luck would have it there were two of them sitting on the shelf so I checked one out. It actually isn't a hard cover but it is a much bigger paper back. At least the words are bigger.

My last stop was the old house to pick up the mail. While I was there, I took some photos of the flowers in the yard.

Then it was back home for the rest of the day.
After supper Ken had a hair cut appointment with Cheryl at the same time Taryn got finished with work so I went along with him. Taryn and I stood around while Ken got his hair cut and we all had a nice visit. We then dropped Taryn off at home.
Next we went to Best Buy to look at a GPS for the car. The kid who worked at Best Buy was very helpful and helped us decide on the one we wanted. It was on sale but were all sold out at that particular store. A store that had one was located and we went to that one to pick it up. We will figure out how to use the thing tomorrow.

I hope your Friday was a good one and the start of a great weekend.
Happyone :-)
In the world of darkness we must shine - you in your small corner and I in mine.

I'm so glad you were able to hang out while I cut Ken's hair. You can see that my work is not a chore. I really love what I do and love to talk to my clients. I really consider most of them to be 'friends' cause we get to know each other. I felt like we were having our own little party!

Glad you got the GPS. They're so useful!

Enjoy your day! BTW, I love your quotes at the end of your blog posts.

The flowers at your old house are beautiful!!
I changed my template and lost my Library list but I'm still reading. I'm sure I'll get 75 but still I hate I lost my list (I should have known better)

The blue flowers growing all over right now are bachelor buttons. I love them, too. And the flowers at your old house are gorgeous! My liatris didn't do too well this year -- only two stalks from a well established plant -- thanks to the rabbits!

Pretty little blue flower...matches this page nicely.

You'd better figure out how to use that GPS! :D

I love all of your flower photos. The blue one is so sweet ~ I have never seen it before. I marvel at how your liatris stand up so well without support. I have a large clump that are all laying on the ground. After I finish my coffee I am going out to plant four coneflowers. I love them. Do you miss your flower garden at your old house?

Enjoy your weekend.

Great quote today. I enjoy reading them every time I visit.

Kim - Yes, sometimes I do miss my garden, but I am glad to be in my new house. I can always just walk over to the park and enjoy all the flowers and animals there. And I don't have to do any work! :-)

Hmmmm I think the blue flower is chicory. It grows in wild profusion around here. During WWII chicory root was dried and ground and drank as a aubstitute for coffee. A concentrated liquid has been avaiable since the British were the "Raj" in India. That's me a fountain of trivia information..lol
Beautiful flowers. Lupin aren't they? The purple ones.
