Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of this and that

A nice cool cloudy morning walk. I walked my usual 6 miles today and walked my " connect the path" route. Quite a few people out walking this morning. My friend Lin called while I was out and we "walked" together for about a mile. Yesterday I was saying that I needed to buy some more sheets. When I got my mail, there was a catalog for The Company Store. Looked up flannel sheets and as luck would have it they were having a 1/2 off sale on flannel sheets. I got 3 fitted, 2 flat, and 4 pillow cases for just under $83. They should be mailed in two days. Lucky day for me. :-)
I finished reading Strange Fits of Passion by Anita Shreve.
It's about a wife who runs away with her baby daughter from an abusive husband and stay in a small town in Maine until he finds her again. I thought the book was very good and well written. I picked out a new flavor of ice cream last night that I haven't had before called Mint Cookies N Cream Supreme. Oh, was that ever good. I have found another favorite flavor!! :-) I was planning on going to the commissary today but I really don't need all that much so I decided to just walk across the street to get a few things from the Giant. It is so nice living so close to a grocery store. Besides I hung a load of wash outside and though there is no rain in the forecast until late this afternoon, it sure looked like rain and I wanted to stay home so I could take in the clothes if it rained. It never did rain, at least not yet anyway. My clothes took longer to dry today than usual because of the humidity but they eventually did. I got the clothes folded and put away and ironed Ken's shirts. It's a little after 4:00 this afternoon and almost time to start dinner. I'm making one of my favorites, Baked Ziti and I will be baking it in my new Polish pottery. :-) I hope this Tuesday was a day of sunshine in your part of the world. Happyone :-) You know your husband still loves you, when there are 2 brownies left and he takes the smaller one.

That book sounds interesting. The ice cream sounds good too as I am a big fan of anything chocolate mint.

Very cute quote!!

I would say that Ken is definitely a keeper.

Wow - you got quite a deal on your flannel sheet purchase. Good for you!

Mmmm...baked ziti sounds yummy. Then brownies and mint cookies 'n' cream supreme - I'd have to walk 12 miles to earn that treat! :D

Sounds like it was a great day.

I like Anita Shreve, too. Have you read any of her other books?
