Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A surprise outing

Started the day off as usual with a morning walk. I think it was the coldest morning of the year so far with a temperature of 20 degrees, but there was no wind so it really wasn't cold if you had on the proper layers.

I did my morning stuff around the house. I hung up the sheets inside today because it was cloudy and I didn't think they would dry outside. By afternoon the sun was out but by then my sheets were already dry.

Mid morning I went out to do a couple of errands. Later I was at home heating up my lunch in the microwave when my cell phone rang. It was Cheryl and she was just 3 miles from my house and was on her way to the stamp store at the mill. I put my lunch back in the refrigerator and she swung by, picked me up and drove the block to the Mill. We first had some lunch at Ram's Head and then went to the stamp store. Always nice to spend time with Cheryl.

Back home again and I really didn't feel like doing my exercise tape, but I did!! Worked on making more of those Christmas cards. I bought a new stamp that said Happy Holidays but I could only use it on some of the cards because it was too big for the others. So I still need to go and get another stamp. I'll probably do that tomorrow and then I'll be able to finish the cards and get them in the mail. I'd like to have them mailed by Monday. It's a good thing this is fun to do because it sure is a lot of work making cards. :-)

It's still early evening so I still have time to read, watch a movie, knit and have some chocolate chip cookies.

My Monday was a good one and I hope it was a Happy One for you too.

It sounds as if you had a near-perfect Monday. I took my walk in the late afternoon because I split firewood this morning.

I sometimes wonder if the card making is worth it. Most people tell me not to send them a card because they don't want to feel like they have to send one back. I enjoy it tho but I wish I could get my cards to look better.
I can't believe how much of your blog I missed!
