Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The post trim walk through

This morning we met Nate at the town house and had what he called a Post Trim Walk Through. Everything is just about done now. The tile by the front door and bathrooms are in though covered to protect them from the workers. Kitchen cabinets are in and the counter tops will be done tomorrow. The kitchen floor and rugs will be installed next week. Washer and dryer are in and the stove is sitting in the kitchen. It was so exciting just walking around in the house. Everything is fine and looking good. After the walk through Nate left and said for us to stay as long as we liked. It was hard to leave but Ken had to get back to work. Here are some of the many pictures I took this morning.
Looking up at the loft from master bedroom.
Standing in master bedroom. Door to the left is the bathroom. Looking down the hall to the two other bedrooms.Ken standing in the living room. We love that transom window above the front door. :-)
Kitchen desk where I will have my computer. You can picture me sitting there posting to my blog!
Pantry
Me standing in my almost finished kitchen. Just think of all the chocolate chip cookies I will be making here one day!! You can also see how much of my gray hair has grown in!
Ken standing in the garage (home to the Corvettes) checking something out.
The final walk through is January 5th and closing is the next day on January 6th. Oh Happy Day.

Congratulations on a beautiful new home. And so convenient -- you can blog and make chocolate chip cookies in the same room. If only you could include the cookies in your blog!

You look so happy standing in your new kitchen. Ken looks very pleased, too. It'll be no time before you're there. Have you already selected wall colors, etc.?

Gorgeous and so very exciting! I love the pantry. And the transom is beautiful. Who would have thought a small window could admit so much light!

Everything is looking good and you look so happy standing in your kitchen. I know you can't wait to put all your personal touches in there. How far is it from where you now live? Will you still be able to walk your same route?

Gosh, it's so neat to see how posts way back was nothing but an empty lot of dirt and rocks and here we are now looking at a built structure with appliances!! This is really so exciting!!
I am so happy for you all. And to actually see you living in there will be the icing on the cake.
It's a fine home and I know you will like it there!!

Thank you for all the comments. How nice that you all are excited for me! :-)

Vee - I want to live in the house for a bit before I decide what colors to paint the walls. I might do a little stenciling too.

Val - The new house is about 12 miles away from where we live now so I will have new walking places to discover. :-) We will live VERY NEAR to a park with a 3 mile or so walk around it so that will be a good place to start.

Wow. The place is looking great. I love all the light and the transom over the front door really makes it a nice bright area. Can't wait to see it after you decorate.
