Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Hanging out with the grandkids

The weather sure changes a lot from morning to morning. Yesterday on my walk the temperature was a cold 28 and today it was a warmish 40 degrees. The music poll is now closed and I see most people don't like music on blogs so I won't be adding music on mine. Yesterday I went over to my daughters house to spend some time with my two oldest grandkids, Antonio and Taryn. The dog looking up at them is Giles. They were pleased to see me but it could have just been those chocolate chip cookies that I brought over. :-) I think Giles is hoping for a piece of the cookie that Antonio is eating. No, he didn't get any. He has his own dog goodies. My daughter wasn't home so it was just me and the kids and we had a great time just hanging out and talking.
Here is the afghan that I'm knitting for Nola.
I have 11 strips done so far with 8 more to go.
It's pretty slow going because I just knit 2 or 3 rows a night. There are 303 stitches per row. I was hoping to make some of my Christmas cards this afternoon but the sun was out and the temperature went up to 52 degrees so I thought it would be a good time to wash my car. We won't be getting many warm days like this. So now my car is sparkling clean and shiny red again and the cards are still not made. I suppose I could start the cards now but I feel more like reading. The cards will be a good project for tomorrow. Maybe when Ken comes home from work we'll take a ride over to the townhouse to see if the front stoop and steps are finished. If we do I'll post some pictures later tonight. Enjoy your day and make this Thursday a Happy One! Edit - The picture is angled like that because I was sitting down when I took the picture of Antonio and Taryn but they are tall. Antonio is 17 and 6' tall. Taryn is 15 and I think she is 5'7". Yes, they are happy and very very good kids!!! Giles, the dog is a beagle. :-)

Wait a minute! I didn't get a chance to vote! :D

Well that doesn't make a lick of difference because you deserve to hear my opinion. LOL! I don't like music on blogs until I do. There are a lot of playlists that I "pop out" and use on my own time and in my own way. I love Sandi's, Miss Sandy's, Linda's, Suzanne's, Penny's...well, you get the idea. So if you wanted the fun of creating your own playlist, feel free.

I have mine off and one must put it on if one wishes to hear it. That's a good solution, too.

Ahhh, it's lovely to see that even when the grands grow to big kids, they still love Grandma and her cookies!

What a great picture of your Grandchilren. That knitting is amazing, really pretty. I'm still knitting the 'empty-nest dish cloths!'

I think it's special that you can just "hang out" and talk with your teenage grand kids.

Antonio looks like he's topping out at about 6' 4" with Taryn right behind him. I can see the camera is angled but those are some tall kids! Goodlooking kids too.

It must be the angle but your grand kids look like they are really tall. The dog looks just like my dog. I bet if I saw the whole dog tho it wouldn't look like mine.
Maybe I should ask for a vote on my blog. Usually I don't like music on blogs because it's not usually music that I like. I guess this is a way of making people hear your kind of music. lol

I didn't vote about the music. I don't have speakers on my computer....so even with music I can't hear it.

I LOVE this pic of your grandkids and the dog. The dog does look like he's patiently waiting for a crumb to drop :) And you have such cute grandkids! I LOVE Taryn's hair!!

The Afghan is absolutely gorgeous!!

That's a wonderful picture of your Grand kids!

And your afghan is beautiful. You have so many talents.

BTW, one of the reasons I don't like music on blogs is because of my dial-up. The more "stuff" a blog has on it, the longer it takes to come up.

Grandmas who bring fresh-baked cookies are absolutely the greatest gift a kid can get!
