Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking around town

Guess what we did yesterday when Kenny got home from work? If you said went to see what work was done on the town house, you would be right. We were surprised to see them still working at 5:30 and that the footings were all poured already. Here's a couple of pictures. This is our end looking at the front of the house.
And this is the whole row.
Yesterday morning I went to the commissary. Lots of people there and I had to wait in line to checkout for about a half hour. The time went fast though because I started up a conversation with a very nice woman in back of me. This morning I did a load of wash and a tissue got washed right along with the clothes. So I had bits of tissue on all the clothes. I'm usually good about checking pockets but I missed this one. The last 2 days it was only 40 degrees when I went for my walk but today the temperature was back up to 60. I took these pictures while on my walk this morning.
These are a couple of trees up at the park that are displaying their fall colors.
This spider web was up at the park too made between two sections on a split rail fence.
I walked over by the elementary school and saw these painted on part of the playground for playing hopscotch.
We used to draw our own with chalk. I didn't even know kids still played hopscotch. I used to play all the time. We used to spend time picking out the just the right flat stone to use for our potsie (not sure of the spelling or even if it's a real word) which is what we called that stone. Nice to know some of the old games are still being played. I also came across this apartment complex for birds that someone built in their yard. The houses are all hanging on a structure built of pipes. I always enjoy my walks around town - always something new that catches my eye. Take a walk around your town today and see what new thing you see. :-)

You have some wonderful photos... it's neat going on around and seeing some photos around your neighbourhood... I love the spiderweb! Very nice!

Wow...that's real progress that you can see. This is going to be fun! That's a pretty tree. Are you sure that it lives in Maryland? :D

I drove by your 'townhouse' last night at about 5:10 on my way to LeeLynn's and saw the men working on it. You must have been there too! I'm amazed by how much went up between then and today. You're on your way!
